The Ring of Gullion is a geological formation and area, officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, located in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The area centres on Slieve Gullion, the highest peak in County Armagh, measures roughly 42 by 18 kilometres and comprises some 150 km² defined topographically by the hills of an ancient ring dyke. Parts of the area have also been officially listed as Areas of Special Scientific Interest.The geological formation was the first ring dyke to be mapped, although its significance was not understood until similar structures had been described from Scotland. It was emplaced during the Paleogene opening of the Atlantic Ocean during the formation of the North Atlantic Igneous Province.

The Irish Hunger Games - A Film by Young People in South Armagh

Over the summer of 2016, two groups aged between 10 and 16 took their first steps in the film-making profession, as part of an innovative summer scheme funded and run by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Newry Mourne and Down District Council, the Arts Council and the Department for Communities. The scheme was the brainchild of a partnership between the Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership and Tí Chulainn and was delivered by talented local media company SlackPress and artist Tracey McVerry.

Crossin' the Bridge Part 1

Leo, a local man from a small rural town is struggling to cope with life yet he continues to put a brave face on things. But as Leo's mental distress becomes more acute, is there anybody willing and able to help?

Crossin' the Bridge is a short film made by the men's group 'Menaware' from South Armagh. Menaware are a formally constituted group that operates in the South
Armagh area and surrounding borders working to raise awareness on the many issues relating to men and boys and their health and
wellbeing.

The group worked with great enthusiasm for several months to produce, write, act and shoot this film. With naturalistic, improvised performances and celebrating the beauty of the South Armagh landscape, 'Crossing the Bridge' raises awareness of mental distress and what help is availible through offering an imaginative insight into the lives of real people.

Funded by the Southern Investing for Health Partnership, Out and About Project, Queen's University Belfast's Open Learning Programme, the Nerve Centre and Studio ON.
