Ring of Kerry Nine Hour Tour in 15 Minutes!
The Ring of Kerry is a very scenic 111 mile circular route in County Kerry in southwestern Ireland. It features some of the best natural beauty that Ireland has to offer. We took an all day tour from the town of Killarney. Along the way we saw Dingle Bay, the towns of Kells, Cahersiveen, Waterville, and Sneem; the Skellig Islands, and beautiful Killarney National Park, featuring the Upper Lake and Torc Waterfall. An unforgettable tour!

Drive the Ring of Kerry in a DAY | Top things to do | Ireland (1of2)
If you drive the Ring of Kerry in a day, how much can you really see? Take our road trip guide and see the top things to do in a day.
The Drive starts in Killarney National Park at Ross Castle, moving on to Muck Ross House and then the short walk from there to Torc Waterfall.
Driving out of the Park we head up into the hills and see Panoramic views of the lakes and National park at Ladies View, stopping for an early lunch.
Hugging the coastline along Kenmare Bay, there are plenty of places to pull over and take in the views.
Arriving at one of the furthest points Park Plaza we can see Skellig Michael (even though overcast) this was a famous filming location for Star Was The Last Jedi
Continuing round the route Ballycarberry Castle now derelict and sadly not accessible close-up, but you can still get some good pictures from 100 metres away. It is also near to the Leacanabuaile Stone Fort. On top of the hill you get panoramic views of area and Castle.
It took us about 9 hours to do the drive, before starting to head for Dingle our stop for the night. From there we will tour the Slea Head Drive, and see how it compares to the Ring of Kerry.
There is so much to see and do. We have shown you just a small amount of things and really stuck to the road route. You need a few days to explore all the attractions in the centre of the Peninsula.

Ring of Kerry, County Kerry, south-western Ireland, Ireland, Europe
The Ring of Kerry is a tourist trail in County Kerry, south-western Ireland. The route covers the 179 km circular road (N70, N71, and R562 road), starting from Killarney, heading around the Iveragh Peninsula and passing through Kenmare, Sneem, Waterville, Cahersiveen and Killorglin. Popular points include Muckross House (near Killarney), Staigue stone fort and Derrynane House, home of Daniel O'Connell. Just south of Killarney, Ross Castle, Lough Leane, and Ladies View (a panoramic viewpoint), all located within Killarney National Park, are major attractions located along the Ring. A more complete list of major attractions along the Ring of Kerry includes: Gap of Dunloe, Bog Village, Rossbeigh Beach, Cahersiveen Heritage Centre, Derrynane House, Skellig Experience, Staigue Fort, Kenmare Lace, Moll's Gap, Ladies View, Torc Waterfall, Muckross House, The Blue Pool, Ross Castle, Ogham Stones, St Mary's Cathedral, Muckross Abbey, Franciscan Friary, Kellegy Church, O'Connell Memorial Church, Sneem Church and Cemetery, Skellig Michael, Beehive Cells and the Stone Pillars marking an important grave. There is also an established walking path named The Kerry Way, which takes its own route, and a signposted Ring of Kerry cycling path which uses older quieter roads where possible. The Kerry Way roughly follows the scenic driving route of the Ring of Kerry. There are numerous variations to the route taking in St. Finian's Bay and Valentia Island which the official driving ring misses (the official cycling route takes in Valentia Island). As well as some fine beaches, it also offers the Gap of Dunloe, Bog Village, Derrynane House, the Skellig Experience Valentia Island, Molls Gap, Torc Waterfall, Muckross House and Ross Castle. The Ring is a popular day trip and numerous bus companies offer trips during the summer months. As the narrow roads make it difficult for tour coaches to pass, all tour buses run in an anti-clockwise (or counter-clockwise) direction, traveling via Killorglin first. It is recommended that car owners travel in the opposite direction, going first to Kenmare to avoid delays caused by tour buses. In 2008 satellite navigation systems were blamed for directing bus drivers in a clockwise direction around the route.
Ring of Kerry Ireland
To read the full article visit:
The Ring of Kerry in western Ireland is 115 miles long but there are two parts of it that are unmissable. They are at each end of the Ring, which basically means you need to drive the whole of it to appreciate it fully. The local maps and tourist board advise travelling in an anti-clockwise direction around the Ring of Kerry to make the most of the sights, but I don't personally think it makes any difference as you probably will need to stop every few hundred metres anyway. There are plenty of lay-by's to stop and take photos, so there's no need to stop somewhere dumb.
First the Killarney National Park, which is on the Eastern end of the Ring, with its Loch Leane, a pristine lake surrounded by imposing mountains including the highest in Ireland, Mount Carrauntoohil which at 1038 metres is just shy of Mount Snowdon, which is 1085 metres high. It's also relatively easily climbable, but there are a number of peaks inside the ring over 600 metres high. The National Park, also contains the Muckross Abbey and Muckross house (04:28), built in the 19th century by an Anglo-Irish aristocrat. The house is not only a fine example of its period, but its setting is the most breathtaking I have ever seen, right next to Loch Leane and with mountains rising in the distance. Just beside the National Park is Black Valley (03:10), and the Gap of Dunloe, which are both side routes well worth taking on a good day. On a bad day you just can't see anything for all the fog. Start your trip from the small town of Kenmare, at the southern end of the park, which itself is a very pretty place and well worth stopping for the night. It's also a good plan to get off to an early start as the best stopping points along the route can be full of tourist coaches and cars. The most popular being the Ladies View (03:54) so called because of the delight of Queen Victoria's Ladies in Waiting when they stopped way back in the late 19th century when on a tour.
You eventually arrive at the town of Killarney, another great place to stop for the night with numerous hotels and guest houses. It recently hosted the Irish Open Golf Tournament, attracting huge number of visitors, but the economic downturn has taken its toll on numbers of late, not that you could tell by looking at the pristine grounds of each of these properties.
From Killarney, you pass the top of the Gap of Dunloe at the small village of Beaufort, and then on to the town of Killorglin, where there was a small music festival and fair taking place as I was driving through. By this time I was looking for somewhere to camp for the night, and passed the town of Glenbeigh where there is a very good campsite, the Glenross, but I wanted something a bit more downbeat and private, so I carried on. I just happened to stop to look at another landscape across the bay towards the Dingle Peninsula when I looked down to a small settlement right at the foot of the hills, which had a small, sheltered inlet with a long pier and small campsite. I looked at the map and found that it was the village of Kells (03:42). Kells turned out to be a real find, because not only was the campsite adjacent to the beach, but I was the only one camped there, while the masses were just 10 miles away in Glenbeigh. It cost me all of 8.5 Euro with breakfast at the guesthouse (which would have been 22 Euro), but without a shower, which I replaced with a leap into the fresh water at the end of the pier. If you like to get away from the crowd as I do, aim for Kells.

Ring of Kerry, County Kerry, South-Western Ireland, Ireland, Europe
The Ring of Kerry is a 179-km-long circular tourist route in County Kerry, south-western Ireland. Clockwise from Killarney it follows the N71 to Kenmare, then the N70 around the Iveragh Peninsula to Killorglin -- passing through Sneem, Waterville, Cahersiveen, and Glenbeigh -- before returning to Killarney via the N72. County Kerry in Ireland | Euromaxx
We visit Dingle Peninsula which attracts one-and-a-half million tourists from around the world each year. The main town and tourist centre is Dingle-- a fishing port of about 1200 inhabitants. However, Dingle's most famous resident doesn't live in the town -- he resides offshore. He's Fungie, the Dingle Dolphin, who showed up about 30 years ago and decided to stay. We actually get to meet him!

Ballinskelligs Bay, Iveragh Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, County Kerry, Ireland, Europe
The Iveragh Peninsula is located in County Kerry in Ireland. It is the largest peninsula in southwestern Ireland. A mountain range, the Macgillycuddy's Reeks, lies in the centre of the peninsula. Carrauntoohil, its highest mountain, is also the highest peak in Ireland. Towns on the peninsula include Killorglin, Cahersiveen, Ballinskelligs, Portmagee, Waterville, Caherdaniel, Sneem and Kenmare. The Ring of Kerry, a popular tourist trail, circles the coastlines as well as the Skellig Ring , beginning and ending at Killarney, just east of the peninsula. Valentia Island lies off the northwestern tip of the peninsula. It is connected with the peninsula by a bridge at Portmagee village, but it can also be reached by ferry crossing between Renard Point on the mainland and Knightstown on the island. The Skellig Islands lie about 12 kilometres off the west coast and are known for their monastic buildings and bird life.
Kerry Geopark is a community initiative on the Iveragh Peninsula which aims to promote geotourism in this area of high geological importance. Some of the interest features are Kenmare Bay (a drowned river valley or ria), signs of past glaciation and volcanic activity and 400-million year old fossilised tetrapod tracks.
