The 25th International Yoga Festival was held from January 4th to 7th, 2019 at Puducherry- the spiritual land where many Siddhas and Saints attained salvation. The Government of Puducherry has been conducting the International Yoga Festival since 1993.

Talk by Prof. Madanmohan at INDO-FRENCH WORKSHOP on “YOGA THERAPY AND AYURVEDA” on 22nd October 2019
The Indo-french workshop on Yoga therapy and Ayurveda was conducted on 22nd October, 2019 at Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Hall, Bapuji Library, SBV campus. This Indo-French Workshop on “Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda” was Organized by the Centre for Yoga Therapy, Education and Research (CYTER) of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), and International Centre for Yoga Education and Research (ICYER) at Ananda Ashram, Pondicherry and supported by Gujarat Ayurved University, Centre for Yogic Sciences of AVMC and Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram.
More than 100 delegates from various countries like France, Columbia, UK and Holland and from various parts of India like Kerala,Tamil Nadu, Mumbai, Chennai, Gujarat, Delhi, Pune and Bangalore participated in the workshop. All the sessions were translated into French for the convenience of the French delegates. Dr.Madanmohan, Director CYS, AVMC, delivered the pre-inaugural session on “Life style Modification: the yogic perspective”. He highlighted that Yoga is a way of life based on the view of life, best gift by the Rishis to the world and that has an impact on health and being and work and life.

“Yoga Chikitsa Lakshnam: CYTER Model of Yoga Diagnostics” by Dr Bhavanani AB, Director, CYTER
The importance of adjuvant Yoga therapy as an integral part of Integrative Medicine was stressed repeatedly by all speakers and participants during the 3rd International Yoga Therapy Symposium organized by the Centre for Yoga Therapy, Education and Research of the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth at its MGMCRI campus on 11th December 2018.
This was a very special event as five internationally certified C-IAYT Yoga therapists were presenting on the same day.
The event was organized by CYTER of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth in collaboration with Loyala Marymount University (California, USA), ICYER at Ananda Ashram, Vasishta Clinic (Salem, India), Gitananda Integrative Therapies Academy, Yoganjali Natyalayam and the Pondicherry Yogasana Association.
The event was inaugurated by Prof SC Parija, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, who commended the international collaboration taking place between Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth and LMU and emphasized the role of Yoga in promoting positive health thereby effectively reducing the immense present burden on the resources of the modern healthcare system. SBV places great importance on the innovative integration of Yoga in the modern medical setting and hence all students of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth are receiving Yoga during their formative years of professional training in the medical, dental and nursing sciences. On the occasion, he release a new book of 'Notes on Anatomy and Physiology for Yoga Education compiled and edited by Prof Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, the Director of CYTER.
75 participants from the USA, UAE, Slovakia, UK, Germany, Austria, Canada, Australia and India participated in the event having invited internationally acclaimed faculty including Dr Lori Rubenstein Fazzio and Shanna Hughes of the Loyola Marymount University, USA; Sandra Eimers of Balance Yoga Lounge, Iowa, USA; Dr Vetri Vendan, of the Vashistha Clinic, Salem; Dr J Mohanakrishnan, Physical therapist from JIPMER, Pondicherry. Prof N Ananthakrishnan, Dean of Faculties at the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth gave a special presentation on integrating Yoga in a modern medical institution and detailed the advent and progress as well as future plans for the CYTER of SBV. To go where no one has, and to prove that you are not just good enough but are the best is our vision for CYTER and we are proud that it is internationally applauded for its work on integrating Yoga in modern medicine.

Dr.Arpan Bhatt, HoD, Swasthavruta, Gujrat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, Gujarat on “Enhancing Wellness through Ayurveda and Yoga”. He described the characteristics of a healthy person in detail as per Ayurvedic texts, elaborated on the principles of Yogic practices and diet and lifestyle to be followed from the ancient texts. He discussed about wellness through Ayurvedic regime to be followed in day to day life.

Prof N Ananthakrishnan, Dean of Faculties at the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth gave a special presentation on integrating Yoga in a modern medical institution and detailed the advent and progress as well as future plans for the CYTER of SBV. To go where no one has, and to prove that you are not just good enough but are the best is our vision for CYTER and we are proud that it is internationally applauded for its work on integrating Yoga in modern medicine.

Mrs Sreeranjani Niraj Ramanathan shared her therapeutic experiences through Yoga.
