Belgrade nightlife aka a sample of the nightlife Belgrade Serbia. This was a week night and hip hop night; imagine a weekend with electronic? Anyways we were at Freestyler and had a great time enjoying Belgrade Serbia nightlife.
Living it up at night in Belgrade
There are a number of great nightclubs to hit in Belgrade's downtown core (in particular, we recommend Community by Kasina, which is full of attractive locals in their best dress … don't show up in jeans and sandals; you WILL be denied entry), but during the summer, the place to be on a warm summer's night is on a splavovi. These are river barges that have been converted into floating bars and dance clubs, allowing its patrons to party the night away under a starlit sky. There are several excellent candidates, but Club River stands out for its attractive ambiance, as its coloured floodlights, modern décor, and its egregious regulars make having a great time here a virtual guarantee!

Blue Danube River Tour | Belgrade, Serbia
We went on the Blue Danube Tour as a day trip from Belgrade, Serbia, and we spent the entire day exploring the Ðerdap (Iron Gate) National Park, starting with the Golubać (Pigeon) Fortress. Our guide Nina and driver Sasha were amazing, and really made the day worthwhile. The fortress is nestled on top of a mountain cliff right next to the Danube - such a picturesque place to start our tour! Apparently, Serbia is where the Danube is the widest, deepest, and narrowest. We did too much on this tour to cram into one vlog, so stay tuned for the next part!
For more information on what we did on this tour, check out Rob's blog post - yup, he's blogging now! Something about wanting to tell his side of the story...

World War II bomb discovered beneath the streets of Belgrade, Serbia
Subscribe to ITN News:
Construction workers in downtown Belgrade in Serbia got a shock on Saturday when they uncovered an unexploded bomb from World War II. Two workers found the device buried six metres underground, and experts said the one tonne bomb was made in Germany and contained 620 kilogrammes of explosives. Local residents were evacuated from the area before the bomb was eventually dug out and transferred to a military base 70 kilometres away. So around 70 years after it was dropped in World War II, the bomb will finally, safely, be destroyed. Report by Laurie Blake.

The Danube in Serbia: 588 Impressions
| | |
The Danube is the only of large European rivers that flows from west to east. Its source is still subject of scientific debate,
while its mouth widens year-in-year-out. Throughout its history, the river had a major role as a link and as a border, as the lifeblood of commerce...
That is why the journey along the Danube is like a visit to a museum of European history, filled with “exhibits” of natural rarities, deep layers of cultural heritage, colourful lifestyles, events, tourist offers and attractions.

These are top 5 cities of Serbia:
Belgrade:
Belgrade is the capital city of Serbia and one of Europe's oldest cities. It is a modern city and a political, administrative and cultural center of the country. The archaeological sites are found in great numbers in this part of the city in very distant history. There are many inviting places in Belgrade such as the Stambol gate, Belgrade fortress Old palace and many others. To get a better understanding of the history of the country, the historical museums in Belgrade will give you a pretty good picture of its past.
Novi Sad:
Novi Sad is an elegant city with graceful parks, bars and outdoor cafes. The city is rather young and hosts one of Serbia’s largest music festivals. Novi Sad is the capital of the province of Vojvodina, an autonomous region with 6 official languages and 26 ethnic groups. As compared to most of the cities in the Balkans, it is more ornate and colourful with intriguing architecture. Novi Sad is also set to be the European Capital of Culture in 2021, and the only city in Europe that will be holding such a prestigious title.
Subotica:
Subotica is a small multicultural city with only one hundred thousand inhabitants. The languages are diverse in this city as much as its religion. A traveller is always enchanted by its marvellous architecture which is built in so many different art style and age. Most of the buildings are adorned with beautiful ceramic tiles, wood carvings, floral motifs and stained glass window. Subotica also has great natural wealth with Lake Palic being the most visited attractions in the city.
Kopaonik National park
Kopaonik is one of the biggest mountain range in the country, and in 1981, it was proclaimed a National Park. The beauty of the mountain comes from the reliefs of evergreen forests, mountain peaks and oceanic Turquoise Mountain where you can see the distant Stara Planina and Sara Mountain and its breathless sight. A large number of rare plant species makes the national park an important biodiversity area in Serbia.
Tara National Park
The Tara National Park was entitled a National Park in 1981 located in western Serbia. The park is known for its thick forests, beautiful peaks and deep caves. There are boat trips and river rafting organised by the park to the Drina River Gorge. It has varieties of plants and animal species. Along the course of mountain streams and rivers, the waterfall is also part of the impressive beauty. The park has facilities with great accommodation along with children’s camp area.

Blue Danube River Tour Part 2 | Belgrade, Serbia
On this second part of our Blue Danube Tour by Serbia Inspired Tours, our guides took us on a river cruise along the part of the Danube between Serbia and Romania. We saw a Roman ruin, the gigantic face of an ancient god carved into the rock, and even a sample of the kolo, a traditional Serbian dance. Special thanks to our tour guide Nina, who was just informative, friendly, and funny throughout the entire trip. Can't recommend her and our driver Sasha enough!

Blue Danube River Tour Part 3 | Belgrade, Serbia
On part 3 of the Blue Danube River Tour, we took a look back into Serbia's past by looking at an archaeological mystery surrounding a village named Lepenski Vir whose inhabitants died of unknown causes. Along the way, we stopped for an amazing lunch where we got to try some Serbian delicacies like pljeskavica and sarma. We also got to see Serbia's geological history through some rock formations. This was the best day tour we've ever had in our travels, and we highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Belgrade and wanting to see a bit more outside the city.

MONTENEGRO EXPRESS: Bar to Belgrade by train for €21
It's one of Europe's most scenic train journeys, from Bar on Montenegro's Adriatic coast to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, via the causeway over Lake Skadar, Montenego's capital Podgrodica, the world's highest railway viaduct at Mala Rijeka, the Vrbnica monastery, the Potpec dam on the Lim River and more. But be warned, at around 00:02:40 it includes the infamous Uh-oh, we've hit a horse incident...
The video was shot on the first part of a 48 hour overland journey from Montenegro to London by train. Fortunately, we were a mere 45 minutes late at Belgrade, and I easily made my connection with the overnight sleeper to Budapest. More information at

Beach of Ada Ciganlija - Belgrade, Serbia
Ada Ciganlija is a river island that has artificially been turned into a peninsula, located in the Sava River's course through central Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The name can also refer to the adjoining artificial Lake Sava and its beach. To take advantage of its central location, over the past few decades, it was turned into an immensely popular recreational zone, most notable for its beaches and sports facilities, which, during summer seasons, can have over 100,000 visitors daily and up to 300,000 visitors over the weekend. Due to this popularity, Ada Ciganlija has been commonly nicknamed More Beograda (Belgrade's Sea).

Europe River Cruising with Scenic | David Whitehill in Belgrade
For more information visit:
Read below for full transcript:
What an amazing way to see Europe.
For many of us Serbia doesn't immediately jump out as a tourism hot spot but Scenic do have a thing or two up their sleeve.
I’m on a 14-night river cruise taking in some of the best of Europe.
I have to admit that when I first heard about the iron gates here in Serbia I was thinking more along the lines of the ‘Game of Thrones’, but they are in fact these two enormous dams that book-end this beautiful stretch of the Danube river.
The only thing is it takes about half an hour to pass through so just a moment.. That's definitely better.
This part of the Danube marks the border between Romania and Serbia, with its enormous rock faces.. Quite literally.
Before we head off exploring though let me introduce your luxurious floating hotel.
Life on board the Scenic Jewel is fairly extravagant, everyone gets their very own butler, it's all inclusive food and drink, this is simply your moment to indulge.
And to make sure it's a true five-star experience a bit of pampering never goes astray
David: “Thank you Tiana”
Tiana: “You’re welcome”
But life in Europe is what we're here to see and on show is Belgrade’s two thousand year history, My Scenic guide Milosh was born and raised here and gives me the lowdown on the culture.
David: “And the Serbians you guys are very passionate about this place?
Milosh: “Yeah of course you know this may be a problem with this area because all the people here are a bit emotional you know so when you're speaking about even not about our city but maybe about sports, politics you know singing, you know it we are quite emotional”.
David: “Good place to have a chat with the locals”
Milosh: “Yeah definitely
Even back to the Roman days this fortress was pivotal in the power struggle that went on here because if you had the fortress it means that you're in control of the rivers, that allowed obviously trade. Now all the Turks are up here for over 300 years their enemy the Austrians they were set up just two kilometers away, you can see them, would have been fairly stressful times.
The Belgrade fortress was the city's birthplace and walking around the grounds you really get a sense of just how important it's been throughout the ages and as a Scenic exclusive we wrap up the day here in true Serbian style.
