Upper Jondachi Kayaking - Low Flow - Jondachi, Ecuador
The famous Jonachi river! After paddling the middle and lower sections of the Jondachi with Benoit Renaud, I was really hoping to get on the Upper section before leaving Ecuador. After getting skunked two days in a row due to heavy rains at put in (the Jondachi has a very high likelihood of flashing when it rains at the put in), I finally managed to hop on!
We had a group of 10 people, none of which had kayaked it before. We were boat scouting most drops, and because of the low flows, most things went just fine with a quick boat scout.
I'd love to get on this run with more water - for anyone hoping to get on this run, be weary of flash floods!

MedLife: Tena, Ecuador - May 2017
The MedLife Tena trip was in one word: life-changing. It was an incredible trip and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience Ecuador culture, have so many cool experiences, see how much we take our access to healthcare for granted, and met all of the amazing people I did (including the other volunteers, the kids, and the locals).

Exploring Ecuador - The Lava Line tour Contiki - Quito, Tena, Banos, Guayaquil
Ecuador is a mega diverse country on the world's equator. From amazing wildlife to fascinating indigenous people this gorgeous South American country was my destination for an exciting adventure through the Amazon rain forest with an great group of people.
We spent an amazing time in an indigenous community making chocolate from scratch and playing soccer with the kids. We did epic activities from zip lining to canyoneering, horse riding, learning salsa, rock climbing and rafting. This was my second Contiki tour and just like my amazing time in Egypt, they didn't disappoint.
This trip included stops in Quito, Tena, Banos, and Guayaquil.
