California 'Glory Hole' drains reservoir after heavy rains
The water level in the Lake Berryessa reservoir, 75 miles north of San Francisco, has risen so much that, unusually, water is pouring into its overflow pipe, as can be seen in footage published by The Vacaville Reporter. The overflow, known as the Morning Glory Spillway, or simply the Glory Hole, drains water once the reservoir is over capacity and shoots it into a creek below the Monticello Dam.

5. Custer State Park
Not only is this gorgeous place a state park, but it also serves as a wildlife reserve. If you want to visit, you’ll have to travel to the beautiful Black Hills in South Dakota, where it serves as the state’s largest state park and was also its first. It was established back in 1912, and grew quickly in the 1920s; by the 1930s, many roads had to be built, as well as campgrounds, parks, and dams that paved the way for future water recreation. At the time, it encompassed around 48,100 acres, but in 1964, 22,900 more were added to the park, bringing it to the 71,000 acres it covers today. Visitors may get the opportunity to glimpse a famous herd of wild bison that roam the area—a herd that boasts numbers around 1,500. There are many excellent, scenic drives to be taken and endless opportunities to see wild animals like bighorn sheep, mountain goats, cougars, coyotes, elk, and many more.
4. Letchworth State Park
New York’s Wyoming and Livingston counties are where this 17 mile-long, 14,427-acre state park calls home. It can be found southeast of Buffalo around 60 miles and just 35 miles southwest of Rochester. William Pryor Letchworth, an industrialist, bought land near Middle Falls in 1859 and built an estate on it. What does this have to do with anything, you ask? Well, he ended up giving his 1,000-acre estate to the state of New York in 1906, which then became the core of the park. Obviously, they then named it after him. There’s a beautiful drive you can take that follows along the west side of the gorge, allowing for viewing of some of the more incredible geology in the area. There are also many hiking trails, which total around 66 miles, horse riding trails, rivers to raft on, hunting opportunities, geocaching fun, and also hot air balloon experiences to be had throughout the summer. In the winter, there’s cross-country skiing, tubing, snowmobiling, and even horse-drawn sleighs! There’s endless adventure to be had at Letchworth, so it’s worth checking out!
3. Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
Just 50 miles north of Eureka, California, one can find some intense nature among some of the more giant trees anyone’s likely to see in their lifetime. Old-growth Coast Redwoods grow in what is almost an unimaginable number within the 14,000 acres this state park calls home in Humboldt County. The California Coast Ranges International Biosphere Reserve is partly made up by Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, as well as three other Redwood parks, and, collectively, they are designated a World Heritage Site. There’s a meadow that is thought of as the centerpiece of that park, and it’s located along the Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway. In the meadow, there is a large population of Roosevelt elk, which draws in sightseers, animal lovers, photographers from around the world, and many more. Prairie Creek, from which the park takes its name, is a popular attraction in the area, as are Gold Bluffs Beach and Fern Canyon.
2. Crater of Diamonds State Park
This 911 acre park in Pike County, Arkansas is the only place on Earth with diamonds that is accessible and open to the public. Many famous finds have happened in the park, including the 1906 discovery of the Strawn-Wagner diamond by Shirley Strawn, the Star of Arkansas in 1956, and Uncle Sam, which was found in 1924 and is the largest diamond ever discovered in the U.S. In 1972, the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism bought the site, and they officially made it a state park the same year. When diamonds started popping up, Murfreesboro became a sort of boomtown, with thousands of tents popping up in tent cities around the area. According to the park, around two diamonds are found every day by visitors, so if you’re thinking about striking it rich, you might as well visit and give it a shot.

Watch Rattlesnake Slither Onto Boat Causing Quite the Scare
A group of friends met an unfriendly creature on the sea as a rattlesnake tried to jump into their boat. Anthony Baciocco, 19, was out on the water of Folsom Lake in California with some friends when they noticed a rattlesnake swimming in the water. In a horrifying turn of events, the serpent then came on board, causing the group to scream in horror. They pushed the throttle to make their getaway but the serpent would not be deterred.
Delaware River In Easton, PA
Delaware River In Easton, PA 27 June 2006
The Delaware River is a major river on the Atlantic coast of the United States. A Dutch expedition led by Henry Hudson in 1609 first mapped the river. The river was christened the South River in the New Netherland colony that followed, in contrast to the North River, as the Hudson River was then known. The name Delaware, for Sir Thomas West, Baron De La Warr, was used by the English and became standard following the English conquest of New Netherland in 1664.
The river meets tide-water at Trenton, New Jersey. Its total length, from the head of the longest branch to Cape May and Cape Henlopen, is 419 miles (674 km), while above the head of Delaware Bay its length is 388 miles (624 km). The length of the main stem of the river alone, to the head of Delaware Bay, is 301 miles (484 km).[1] The mean freshwater discharge of the Delaware River into the estuary is 11,550 cubic feet (330 m³) per second.
The Delaware River constitutes, in part, the boundary between Pennsylvania and New York, the entire boundary between New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and most of the boundary between Delaware and New Jersey. The Delaware-New Jersey border is actually at the easternmost river shoreline within the Twelve-Mile Circle of New Castle, rather than the usual mid-river or mid-channel borders, causing small portions of land lying west of the shoreline, but on the New Jersey side of the river, to fall under the jurisdiction of Delaware. The rest of the borders follow a mid-channel approach.

YouTubers Who Died in Waterfall Plunge Were Inspired by ‘Jackass’ Movie
A tragic waterfall accident has led to the death of three popular travel vloggers. ‘High on Life’ YouTube stars Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh and Lyakh’s girlfriend, Megan Scraper, were killed Tuesday as they were on their latest adventure in Canada. Reports say the trio was at the top pool of Shannon Falls in British Columbia when Scraper slipped and fell. The three were then swept by the current and plummeted about 100 feet into the waterfall’s lower pool. All three were killed in the fall.

How Tugboat Works
A tugboat (tug) is a boat that maneuvers vessels by pushing or towing them. Tugs move vessels that either should not move themselves, such as ships in a crowded harbor or a narrow canal, or those that cannot move by themselves, such as barges, disabled ships, log rafts, or oil platforms. Tugboats are powerful for their size and strongly built, and some are ocean-going. Some tugboats serve as icebreakers or salvage boats. Early tugboats had steam engines, but today most have diesel engines. Many tugboats have firefighting monitors, allowing them to assist in firefighting, especially in harbors.

IMPERIAL DAM RECREATION AREA
This outstanding video showcases two recreation areas in the Yuma Field Office . . . the Imperial Dam Recreation Area and the Oxbow Campground.
The Imperial Dam Recreation Area is located approximately 30 miles north of Yuma, Arizona, and includes both Squaw Lake and Senator Wash Recreation Areas. Squaw Lake has camping, hiking, swimming, and fishing opportunities and has direct boat access to the Colorado River. Senator Wash is a reservoir where the public can camp, hike, fish, utilize their off-highway vehicles, and also enjoy all kinds of water activities.
Oxbow Campground is located approximately 23 miles south of Blythe, California, and about 68 miles northwest of Yuma, Arizona, on the Colorado River. Oxbow provides opportunities for camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, and picnicking, and has direct boat access to the Colorado River.
Both Recreation Areas are used year round. The summer crowds enjoy all the water activities available at the recreation areas and because of the mild climate, the winter visitors take advantage of the boating, camping, and fishing opportunities in the winter.

700 Pound Snake Pulled out of Lake in North Carolina
Giant 700 pound snake caught in lake in Proctor, North Carolina. The giant man eating python was measured at 98 feet long. Police were contacted to see if there have been any recently filed missing person reports as a snake this big could have surely eaten a human.
This giant snake is massive and just gorgeous, but it didn't take long to find out that the STORY behind it... was fake, just another hoax.
While the image is indeed real, I think the size of the giant snake could have been exaggerated due to the camera angle
Nevertheless, this snake is still huge, but where did it come from? The markings on it's skin looks similar to that of a reticulated python native to Southeast Asia. After playing around with a little Google translate, the mystery was finally solved.
This giant python came from Indonesia and after some rough translating, it turns out that it was discovered this last Thanksgiving near the village of Belinyu City. It was found by accident by a group of construction workers who severely injured the reptile while knocking down a large dead tree in which the python was sleeping inside of. The workers put the dying snake out of it's misery and buried it.
It's sad to see such an incredible animal killed, especially one that could have been a new world record size. I wish there were more pictures so we could get a better idea of just how large it was.
I really enjoyed learning about this amazing snake, if you guys have any cool wildlife stories or interesting animals that you think I might enjoy, tell me about it on Facebook

Sharon Mills County Park, Washtenaw County, Michigan
Located on the banks of the River Raisin in southwestern Washtenaw County, Sharon Mills County Park offers the opportunity to visit a significant historic site in a beautiful natural setting. Prior to its acquisition by the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission in 1999, Sharon Mills was most recently used to house a winery. The mill was originally constructed in the 1850s. It was purchased and then restored by Henry Ford in the 1930s. Sharon Mills is listed on the State of Michigan Register of Historic Places.
