Fairbanks Riverboat Discovery Tour
If you're in Fairbanks, Alaska then I'd highly recommend the Discovery Riverboat Tour. This attraction on an authentic sternwheeler riverboat stops off at a Chena Indian village where you see a few demonstrations and then can walk the grounds. The tour also has a bush pilot demonstration where a float plane takes off and lands right by the boat, which was pretty dramatic. The boat stops in front of the late 4 time Iditarod champion Susan Butcher's kennels and you are seen a dog sled team training exercise. All during the Riverboat cruise the guide informs you about the area including geographical, cultural and historical points of interest. If you like this Fairbanks Riverboat Discovery Tour video then make sure to give it a thumbs up!

The World Worst Vlogger Award goes officially to the Proctor Family. Life has been so crazy and at the same time so incredible. We have joined a local ministry that has blessed us in so many different ways. It has taught us to live life to the fullest for the kingdom in every moment.
We started the day with church, where Amy got to sing for the first tim eon the worship team. The guys worked on projects for a customer after, while the girls worked on their hunter education course. A dear friend of us gifted Steve and I tickets for a Riverboat Discovery Cruise benefiting the local Ministry Love Inc. It was a beautiful evening spending time together as a couple.
Riverboat Discovery
Recorded July 15, 2000. First up on my cruise down the Chena River from Fairbanks was an Alaska bush plane takeoff and landing. Next we visited the home and kennel of Iditarod champion Susan Butcher (1954-2005). Susan showed us her champion dogs and shared with us an amazing story about one of her magnifcent animals. After taking a gander at some reindeer along the river we disembarked the ship at the Chena Indian village. While there Dave Munson gave us a sled dog demonstration.

Bush Floatplane Demonstration - River Cruise on Riverboat Discovery, Fairbanks, Alaska
Aug 2010 - A cruise of the great rivers of Alaska! We took three-hour cruise that took us into the heart of Alaska and introduced to a family who has made the rivers of Alaska a way of life for five generations. We witnessed a bush floatplane take-off alongside the boat, visited the home and kennels of the late four-time Iditarod winner Susan Butcher and see her champion sled dogs in action. Got immersed into the ancient Athabascan Indian culture when our Alaskan Native Guides took us on a personalized tour of the Chena Indian Village. The Binkley family invited us to experience a slice of Alaskan life!
We board an authentic Alaskan sternwheeler, the Riverboat Discovery, and take a journey back in time along the Chena and Tanana Rivers. Since 1950, the Binkley family has operated riverboat tours in Fairbanks; now you can cruise out into nature with third- and fourth-generation captains and experience the area's history and beauty firsthand. Take a tour with native Alaskans in a traditional village and meet some of the pioneers who call this land home.
Wildlife, History, and More
Sternwheeler boats transport you out into the Alaskan wilderness, but also back to a time when gold-rush fever was sweeping across the state. You climb aboard either the Discovery II or Discovery III for a fully narrated three-and-a-half-hour tour. As the wheel churns up the water, see if you can spot some of Alaska's abundant wildlife along the riverbank. Later on you'll see one of Alaska's bush pilots taking off right from the River. At a riverside fish camp, learn how Alaska natives traditionally prepared salmon for smoking and drying. (You'll find out how good it tastes when you sample Captain Jim's smoked salmon). Further down the river, share in the excitement, joy and hard work of an Iditarod dog kennel, run by the family of the late Iditarod champion Susan Butcher. The Discovery's pilot won't let you miss the amazing site we Alaskans call the wedding of the waters, where the Chena and Tanana Rivers meet. The boiling current of the glacial Tanana creates clouds of silt that rise and fall as they meet the clear Chena waters.

When we got to Fairbanks, Alaska we continued exploring the state. Today we went on a Riverboat Discovery cruise on the Chena River. We met and listened to a Bush Pilot talk before he took off in his Sea Plane. Later we stopped and listened to Susan Butcher of the Ididarod fame at her home on the river. She talked and showed us how the Sled dogs exercise in the summer. We saw a small Reindeer Ranch that had a snow white Reindeer in the pack. We also cruised by the sister Riverboat Discovery 2 as well. The rest of the cruise will be in another video.
Riverboat Discovery III

One of the most popular things to do in Fairbanks is take a cruise on the Chena River aboard the Riverboat Discovery 3. One of the highest rated attractions of any kind in the country, it's been owned and operated by generations of the Binkley Family. On the tour you see great river scenes, a float plane take off and landing, Susan Butcher family sled dogs and a recreation of a Native Alaskan Village.

We took a cruise on the great Chena river of Alaska, on the Stern wheeler Riverboat Discovery! Our three-hour cruise took us into the heart of Alaska and introduce us to a family who has made the rivers of Alaska a way of life for five generations. We became immersed into the ancient Athabascan Indian culture when our Alaska Native Guides took us on a personalized tour of the Chena Indian Village. After the cruise we explored the Steamboat Landing shops where Bob experienced the “Alaska at 40 Below” for about three minutes. It was a surprise to see the many beautiful homes along the river so far North.

Exploring the White Mountains | Alaska Haven Vlogs
After a week of snowstorm in the middle of April, we enjoyed our first adventure of the season. We packed a picnic and started our journey to explore the White Mountains. We almost got stuck, but made it out ok in the end. We found some of the most beautiful hidden places and enjoyed our picnic, droning and takin pictures. Thank you for being part of our journey.
