Rizal Park or Luneta Park is a historic and iconic park situated in the heart Manila. Located along Roxas Boulevard and adjacent to the old walled city of Intramuros. The park is a tribute to Philippines' national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, who was executed here through firing squad by the Spaniards because of rebellion. His writings inspired the revolution against Spanish government which eventually led to Philippines independence. Rizal's monument also served as mausoleum where his remains were kept.

Rizal Park has transformed into a lovely park for all. New addition to this vast area is the Archive and Museum Gallery that features lovely paintings of talented artists. This is beside the Rizal Monument with a free entrance. Rizal's Execution site with bronze life size sculptures depicting the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal. Also shown is the Martyrdom of Jose Rizal Sculpture Park with huge sculptures. The National Museum of Natural History, a newly renovated structure that will commence opening last week of May. Dancing and light fountain show is held every evening starting 6 PM .

CHANGING OF THE GUARD is a formal ceremony where the incoming honor guards exchange duty with the outgoing honor guards at Rizal Monument, Luneta Park, Manila. Members of the Marine Security and Escort Group (MSEG) of the Philippine Marines Corps daily take turns in guarding the statue of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. This ceremony takes place between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. and lasts around 45 minutes.
