Caribbean Trip Day 5. Fast Ferry to Tortola and Meet Crew and Catamaran From Hell
Ep47. This Episode of Cruising Off Duty, we leave St Thomas in the USVI on the Fast Ferry to go to Tortola in the BVI. We show you that it is not as easy as just jumping on a Ferry to change islands as you have a slow Customs Process ahead. You also meet the Crew (Dan and Theresa and Colin and Carolyn) that we are going to be sailing with on the 40' Catamaran that we have chartered for the next week. We get to the Catamaran and find out Dream Yacht Charters has not been maintaining this boat well at all and even though this Catamaran is only a year old, so many things are not working, including both fridges, the watermaker and one of the 2 toilets. We deem it the Catamaran From HELL.
All this in this episode. If you found it informative or entertaining please give it a thumbs as it helps get YouTube to promote it outside of the existing subscribers. If you haven't already and you want to follow along with our journey, hit the subscribe button.

Ferry from Charlotte Amelie, St Thomas To Tortola, Virgin Islands
Getting to Tortola by various means of transportaion. Landing planes and the ferry pounding through surf between Charlotte Amelie, Saint Thomas and Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
Tortola Dolphin Swim
Your International tour begins as you walk to the fast ferry for a one-hour cruise through the spectacular Sir Francis Drake Passage to the neighboring British Virgin Island of Tortola. Upon arriving in Tortola, you pass through British Virgin Islands immigration with your passport. Next, you'll ride via ground transportation to Dolphin Discovery. Surrounded by green mountains, virgin beaches and crystal clear waters, Dolphin Discovery is nestled inside Prospect Reef Port by the Caribbean Sea. You'll make your way to the lagoon and meet your dolphin trainer for a briefing and orientation. After you're divided into groups and assigned to specific platforms, you'll take turns entering the water and interacting with the dolphins. Participants enjoy approximately 30 minutes of water time with the wonderful Dolphins. Professionally taken pictures of your aquatic experience will be available for purchase. Based on ferry boat schedule and guest participation, guests may have up to one hour of free time in Tortola either before or after their Dolphin Experience. After time with your new aquatic friends, you'll enjoy a one hour cruise back to St. Thomas via the fast ferry, where upon arrival guests will off-load and go through Immigration at Charlotte Amalie for approximately 30 minutes and then re-board the ferry for a quick transfer back to the pier. It is a 10 minute walk back to the ship.
Notes: Participants must be at least 7 years of age. Passengers 7 to 12 years old must be accompanied in the lagoon by a participating parent or guardian. St. Thomas Ferry Information for Tourists
Cruise Ship & Island Travel Gear & Advice -
This is important information to know in regards to the ferry between St. Thomas and St. John in the USVI. It's always important to purchase a one-way ferry ticket. It costs a few dollars more but purchasing a round-trip ferry ticket locks you into using the same ferry operator only upon return. If you miss that operator at the end of the day or if it is full, you might have to purchase a one-way ticket just to return to the other island! I also recommend renting a Jeep from Discount Car Rental ( as Jeeps are allowed to use the ferry, unless the policy has changed. Please share this video with others and enjoy your vacation to the USVI! Contains royalty-free music from . Filmed with a Panasonic HC-V100M camera in 1080P HD.
