Roaring River's source is a Blue Hole at least 180' deep. The bottom has never been reached. Water from the hole emerges quickly enough to feed the aptly named river. On the property as well is an interesting bat cave with underground swimming area

Roaring River - The Cave - Westmoreland - Jamaica - Reliable Tours - Errol Evans
Footage from our trip to Roaring River in Jamaica from a couple years back. Best tour guide ever. He showed us to more places than Roaring River, but it's the only place we filmed. We were with him for 10+ hours that day and had an incredible time from the coast to the middle lands. Awesome time.
Cave exploring in Jamaica | Roaring River
Join me as I explore the caves of Roaring River in Westmoreland Jamaica!
Had great times as we drove through the Jamaican country side, we arrive to the well-kept grounds and then departed for the Cave tour.
You can see the natural spring that provides the nearby village with drinking water.
We then took to Cave exploring where we heard about the history and the different forms and what they look like.
After taking a dip in the cave spring we then swam in the deep Blue Hole and then back out of the cave.
We went down river to the local spot where i swam in the crystal clear water and saw some of the villagers jump into the water.
All in all, a great trip and hope you all enjoy the ride along.
Roaring River Park is a heritage and nature park near Petersfield, Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica.
The park is on the site of the Roaring River Estate which belonged to the Beckford family: Peter Beckford, William Beckford.
The Roaring River runs underground, before appearing near to Petersfield, close to the Roaring River Cave, a series of limestone caverns with a small mineral spring inside. The Roaring River Citizens Association, a local community group, looks after the caves and provides guided tours for visitors. There is also a fresh water sinkhole where visitors can swim and a landscaped private garden where visitors are welcome for a contribution.
The river provides the parish capital, Savanna-la-Mar, with its water supply and it is the most important source of water in central Westmoreland and the Georges plain.

Roaring River Head in Westmoreland Petersfield Jamaica
Head of the Roaring River in Westmoreland Parish Petersfield Jamaica where the river actually burs out of the ground at a raging pace and begins its journey down river. This is the drinking only side of the river where fresh crisp clear water can be bottled by the local people without fear of soaps, detergents or other contaminants. This is one of natures special places where man can live a natural life from the bountiful gifts of life. If not for the need for possesions one could sustain from these waters and the surroung fertile lands.

Roaring River Cave
On our second family outing in Jamaica we go to the Roaring River Park and Cave!!!
After a nice drive through the country side, taking in the scenery and animals, we arrive the Roaring River Park. We link up with my friend and guide Colin. He took us on a tour of the area pointing out the flowers and plants and giving us a rich history lesson. Colin is a local to the community, so he grew up in the area and is not a great tour guide.
After we went to the caves and took in all the different formations and local history of it. It was great to be back here; the caves system is quite large and bathing in the cold stream in the caves is always excellent. There are different compartments and we visited all. Colin even out in a show by diving in the Blue Hole in the caves.
We then came out the cave sand hiked down to the river by a bridge, so we can take a bath in the cool fresh river water. The bridge is where the locals come to hang out and my son took the chance to jump into the water.
Having seen both the river and cave, we drove back to Montego Bay and decided to stop at Dead End beach to take a dip as it was still early.
We had a great day and hope you guys enjoy the trip with us!
