Sailing to Cayos Cochinos - near Roatan Honduras

Feb 2009 my 2nd visit to Cayos Cochinos in Honduras. We are coming into the island from Roatan after about 4 hours of sailing. Great view of the Plantation Resort and Capt Hank mooring line. Good view of the cove great for snorkeling - I added a snorkeling video for Cayos as well.

Roatan Sailing and Barrier Reef Snorkeling Excursion

Get ready to set sail on board the beautiful 41' sailboat, the Morgan. Enjoy a carefree and relaxing 5 hour sailing excursion in Roatan up through some picturesque islands towards Port Royal the spot made famous back in times of pirates, enjoy some snorkeling, snacks and a light lunch.

Your excursion captain and crew will be waiting for you at their private dock and welcome you on board this wonderful ketch (a sailboat with 2 masts) and get you ready for your day sailing and snorkeling excursion. The group size is limited to only 10 passengers making this a very personal service day!

The boat has 2 staterooms with restrooms, lots of shaded area as well as areas for sunning and working on your tan. You just stretch out and relax as the crew will do all the work. As you head out from the pier, the sails will be raised and off you go with the wind. Enjoy a snack and refreshments as you wind your way to your snorkel site passing by Brick Bay, Old French Harbour Port, French Key, Big French Key, Brooksy Point, and Fantasy Island. Sailing time is approximately 2 hours.

You will drop anchor inside a pretty little bay nestled between 2 little beautiful islands. Now it is time for the captain to go over your snorkeling rules, gather up your gear that is provided and hop in the warm Caribbean waters for an incredible guided snorkel. You can expect to see coral, huge sponges, loads of tropical fish and maybe even seahorses or turtles all surrounded by the aqua and turquoise blue Caribbean.

Your time snorkeling will be approximately 1 hour and when you are finished, a light lunch will be waiting for you on deck. Relax and enjoy the scenery before pulling up anchor and sailing back to the dock. The sailing time back is approximately an hour and half.
