Robert Louis Stevenson Estate, Samoa (1080 HD)
For more great information, photos and video about Samoa, see PleaseTakeMeTo's Samoa Travel Guide -
The estate is about 10 minutes from Apia and incorporates the grand home of Robert Louis Stevenson, now restored to the same condition it was in when he and his wife lived here over a century ago.
It is also an evolving museum with a tour that takes about 40 minutes and is quite interesting.
There is a waterfall and swimming hole about 5 minutes walk away and there's also the option of hiking to the top of the neighbouring mountain where Robert Louis Stevenson and his wife Fanny are buried. The view from here takes in all of Apia and helps you understand why this great poet, novelist and travel writer chose it as his resting place for eternity.
eVid -- There's snow in them there hills! And, some stills.
It's been a while since I posted anything so I thought I'd get back into it by posting one of the eVids I've been promising.
Mt. St. Helena, 4243', is a prominent natural feature in this video and is the tallest mountain in the immediate area. The city of St. Helena, named after the mountain, is only 257' above sea-level. The surrounding hills are in the 1800' to 2000' range. Known for its wines since the mid 1800s, the area gained popularity after being featured in the book, Silverado Squatters, by Robert Louis Stevenson, the famous Scottish author. It is the account of his visit to the Napa Valley in 1880 while on his honeymoon. He stayed in an abandoned bunk house on the slopes of Mt. St. Helena. The bunk house is gone now, but the site is preserved as part of a state park. Here are a few links for your edutainment:

The Robert Louis Stevenson Trail Begins, France
Robert Louis Stevenson of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and Treasure Island fame was mentally in a bad place and decided a possible cure would be to walk across an area of France. He hired a donkey, Modestine, a set off on a 220 km/136 mile, 12-day trip from the Auvergne region to the mountains of the Cevannes.
This route is now called Chemin Stevenson and ex-Marine (husband, Steve) and I set off to follow in his tracks... Follow along with us...

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Montana ( (listen)) is a state in the Northwestern United States. Montana has several nicknames, although none are official, including Big Sky Country and The Treasure State, and slogans that include Land of the Shining Mountains and more recently The Last Best Place.Montana is the 4th largest in area, the 8th least populous, and the 3rd least densely populated of the 50 U.S. states. The western half of Montana contains numerous mountain ranges. Smaller island ranges are found throughout the state. In total, 77 named ranges are part of the Rocky Mountains. The eastern half of Montana is characterized by western prairie terrain and badlands. Montana is bordered by Idaho to the west, Wyoming to the south, North Dakota and South Dakota to the east, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan to the north.
The economy is primarily based on agriculture, including ranching and cereal grain farming. Other significant economic resources include oil, gas, coal, hard rock mining, and lumber. The health care, service, and government sectors also are significant to the state's economy.
The state's fastest-growing sector is tourism. Nearly 13 million tourists annually visit Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, the Beartooth Highway, Flathead Lake, Big Sky Resort, and other attractions.
