Fire at Robinsons Place Tacloban- October 23-24, 2019
Fire hits Robinsons lasted 16 hours
Tacloban City, Philippines--- It all started with an exhaust fan that went on fire from Gerry's Grill, a restaurant at the Robinsons Place ground floor in Marasbaras this City that took place on October 23, around 5:45 in the afternoon that razed to the ground majority of the property.
It was declared fire out at 9:00 by the Bureau of Fire Protection the following morning, October 24.
Initial damage assessment reveals 60 percent of the mall got burned.
No injured, casualties reported.
Fire Fighters from Leyte and Samar helped put-out the fire and saved other parts of the mall.
The place was immediately secured by the police, said Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez who personally supervised the entire fire fighting operation.

Nakakalungkot tingnan at isipin dahil kalalagay lang ng mga bagong display at mga Christmas decor, my mga bagong bukas na establishments mga almost 2 months palang nag open ito. Fire hits Robinsons Place mall in Marasbaras Tacloban
TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte - Firefighters from different stations in Leyte were called to put out a a fire in Robinson’s Marasbaras Tacloban.
The fire reportedly start in Gerry’s Grill, a restaurant at the mall’s ground floor last Wednesday in October 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm.
However Mr. Gerry Tan, owner of Gerry’s Grill pointed out his restaurant suffered the least damaged in the fire which made it improbable that the fire originated in his kitchen.
Workers and mall goers were evacuated to safety. No one was reported hurt. Damages to properties are appraised at tens of millions pesos.
