Is the Robot Restaurant worth $80?!
Everyone has heard of the Robot Restaurant here in Tokyo but I was pretty shocked to hear it was $80 per person. It was by far the craziest and most colourful show I've seen seen. Worth $80 though?

WARNING - DON'T book your travel through Expedia - they are super sketchy! So many people have reported being double or triple-charged by Expedia.com - and Expedia refused to refund duplicate charges caused by glitches on their site and app. I don't know if travelocity and hotels.com are as sketchy, but they are owned by the same company. I will be trying competitor Priceline in the future.

Review Robot Restaurant Bar Shinjuku Japan Tokyo 4K
This is the Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku Japan. At $60 a ticket for this tourist trap it is a bit expensive for the experience however it could be justified depending on what acts you get during the show, they mention they change the acts and some are much more energy and action packed than others. In between each act there is about 10 minutes that they use to sell drinks, t-shirts, popcorn and all other sorts of things to empty your pockets. The show is to long because of these breaks, the immersion in the experience is broken too long because of the selling phase a.k.a. bathroom breaks, as well.
My favorite scene 23:57 . We sit down and get out faces blown off! Awesome, loud drumming and bright colors which open the show off on a great step! I was expecting this to be the stupidest thing we did in Japan but after the first act, I changed my mind! However, after the detrimental acts that followed this drumming and light fantasy, my mind changed.
My second favorite act 15:17 . It is very Power Rangers like and really silly but it's fun and works for the setting. With characters like Kung Fu Panda coming out, a hang-gliding ninja turtle and fire breathing snakes, it's a real robot fight and works for the show.

Welcome to the robot restaurant! Probably the weirdest thing you can experience in Japan. It's definitely a tourist attraction type spot... but I have to admit, we had quite a bit of fun and it was worth the cost! The show is 90 minutes long :)

After living in Japan for about 1 year, I thought I had finally grown accustomed to what life is like in the Land of the Rising Sun. However, nothing had prepared me enough for the mayhem that took place at Shinjuku's Robot Restaurant. If there's any place in the world to purposely trigger a seizure from flashing lights and loud noises, this is the place to do it! A must see while you visit Tokyo.

The Robot Restaurant in Tokyo is the most insane restaurant in the world where you can enjoy an hour lunch or dinner service while enjoying a show that will have you question the foundation of your life.
The show is only 3 hours and you need to reserve upfront. The great thing is that the staff speaks English so you could call in from your hotel room. I was little bit disappointed with the small dinner box but luckily some Australians next to me offered me their dinner boxes so I had a feast to enjoy.
The show starts off with a fun dance with swords but quickly gets stranger and stranger with fighting robots, Pandas on cows, dinosaur fighting girls, girls hanging from an airplane and giant tanks. Fitted out at a cost of 10 Billion YEN ($100 Million), Robot Restaurant looks like something straight out of a futuristic movie, all migraine-inducing neon, video screens and mirrors.
Customers pay a 5,000 YEN charge ($50), the drink menu only extends as far as canned beer, chu-hai and bottled tea, sold at the kind of prices you'd expect at a baseball game.
The entry fee also includes a bento box, though you'd find tastier fare in an average convenience store. There are three hour-long shows each night, in which the nubile staff take to the floor on giant robots, including a neon tank and enormous female 'borgs – complete with (literally) pneumatic busts.
The customers seemed a little too gob-smacked to know what to do at first, but by the end they were waving their glow-sticks like hardened ParaPara dancers. Give it a chance, and you might find yourself doing the same thing too.
