Buying a farm in Portugal - Episode 3 - Oliveira do Hospital, Coimbra, 7 Hectares (May 2019)
A seven hectare (17 acre) farm for sale next to the Mondego river in the Coimbra district, central Portugal. €90,000 Euros
400 metres of river frontage and a weir to help dam up a section of water for swimming, a private beach and private, spring fed, natural pond up on the hill. Lots of granite rocks, vibrant vegetation and stunning valley views!
Next to the river is an old mill and a granite farm house with license for reconstruction into a house. The land has 7 flat terraces suitable for farming and two licensed wells.
There are wild otters in the river as well as lot of fish and local birds of prey which soar in the skies above. The land is covered with beautiful and unique plant species and has numerous private spots to erect log cabins or glamping structures (tipis, yurts, tents etc).
I really like the idea of building a couple of log cabins each with their own private views of the river and valley which we could rent out as holiday cottages for extra income.

AspiringGeoparkEstrela

This video-documentary is the result of the project Marão Minha Serra, an action-research project aiming at promoting and understanding human-nature relations. The project was born from a partnership between the University of Aveiro and the Baldio of Ansiåes and it aimed at re-connecting people to their common land (baldio in Portuguese). For that, the project recorded 21 residents telling stories about their common land and asked them to choose their favorite place. Thus, this video is an affective map of the baldio of Ansiães, a map that tells the resident’s affects towards their common land. The video promote a transformative sustainable view of nature: nature is not a monetary resource, but a shared “commons” that hold all those memories, culture, resources and meanings that are essential for life.

'Non', ou A Vã Glória de Mandar, - Full Movie - English Subtitles
'Non', ou A Vã Glória de Mandar, (No, or the Vain Glory of Command).
The film, starring Luís Miguel Cintra and Miguel Guilherme, depicts a series of defeats from the entire military history of Portugal – the assassination of Viriathus, the Battle of Toro, the failed attempt of Iberian Union under Afonso of Portugal and Isabella of Spain and the Battle of Alcácer Quibir – and the Lusiads episode of the Island of love, which are told through flashbacks as a professorish Portuguese soldier recounts them while marching through a Portuguese African overseas territory in 1973, during the Portuguese Colonial War (1961–74).
