FLOOD FREE HOMESTEAD ON ALLUVIAL ACRES & CLOSE TO THE CBD
It certainly goes without saying amongst locals that properties of this calibre rarely present themselves to the market, and when they do, they certainly don’t last. If you’re looking for a quality, low set, master built home with the benefit of a flood-free building envelope that’s what we have here. All of that plus prime alluvial acres and less than five minutes to the CBD of Grafton.
As soon as you enter the property you take relief that every aspect has been well maintained. The home stands proud behind its easily maintained gardens and privacy hedge with large carports and veranda access straight into the home. The expansive living/dining space inspired by the bay-window design offers the views of the green pastures and the solid timber kitchen equipped for the largest of families. The floor plan is certainly fair with three identical bedrooms with built-in robes with direct veranda access, where the fourth is at the southern end of the home perfect for the teenagers or guests. The bathroom is timeless and spacious in keeping with the decor and era of this substantial masterpiece.
If it’s running cattle you’re after or spelling a few horses, you certainly can’t supersede this offering of approx. 55 acres in this rising market. Fenced into approximately 9 paddocks with a lane way alongside access couldn’t be better and with a set of steel yards already in place, there is really nothing left to be done.
Currently being run as a cattle enterprise, bullocks that have been taken off the block are well known to be sale toppers at the local fat cattle sales; in fact our seller has been known to supply local butchers direct over the years. Rarely a thistle or weed in sight, the productivity of the acres has been made possible due to all the desired grasses comprising of kikuyu, paspalum, couch and clover. We can’t forget the spring fed dam on site, a priceless commodity along with a current 10mg irrigation license.
Storage of all the farm essentials are covered with a modern 14m x 14m trimdec shed and there is an old rustic barn inclusive boasting 3 phase power. We would also like to note that the machinery used to maintain the acres such as tractors, mulcher, slasher and seeder are all subject to negotiation.
There certainly has been a lot of heart and soul spilled into this property that was originally bought as a barn with land attached. It’s now time for our sellers to downsize, the offering is now; we are ready to release the keys to our new custodians.

BACA's Orchards without Borders -- Vergers sans Frontières
On Wednesday 4 December as part of the Orchards without Borders -- Vergers sans Frontières project BACA students helped to plant 8 apple trees (4 Sussex and 4 Normandy) at the back of the academy building. The apple trees were planted as part of a new orchard to celebrate all the students who have attended one of the four schools to stand on the site; Westlain Grammar, Stanmer Secondary, Falmer High School and BACA.
Each of the 8 trees were dedicated to a previous pupil and the Academy will aim to host one alumni event each year, adding to the orchard each time and hope both orchard and alumni flourish.
Current BACA students worked hard throughout the day with help from the Brighton
Permaculture Trust to get the trees ready for planting, while other year 8 and 9 students took part in apple juicing and baking Sussex cake and Normandy tarts with the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership to prepare an apply feast for everyone to share at the end of the school day.
In addition we had a visiting guest from Normandy in France currently following how the Brighton Permaculture Trust works with schools to plant orchards so the knowledge can be shared with French schools. Some of our year 7 students enjoyed a special French lesson all themed around -- apples!
Well done to everyone involved!

Going Apple Picking on a Farm in the country of Wisconsin 10/10/2015 :)
This is a Vlog of my little cousin Donovan, my Nana, and I going to a a farm to go apple picking. This is basically a way to get your daily fruits and vegetables, by not having to go to the Grocery store to just pick these up, its boring. This apple picking place is on farm that allows people during the fall here in Wisconsin to go on there land and pick there crops, and are allowed to pick and eat some too, but its basically you pick them, and you bring them to the inside of the barn that is shown in the beginning of the video and pay for them I think per pound, and then take them home. And also not shown in this video, we actually went to another barn after we left here and picked up a jug of 100% pure apple sider, and it was so yummy and healthy, it had no sugar and is 100% pure. So if you guys are ever in Wisconsin in October, this is a must ^^ Thanks so much for watching:)

Farming 4R Manitoba: Featuring Curtis McCrae
Curits McCrae shows us his farm in Manitoba, and how he is using the 4R Nutrient Stewardship (the Right Source @ Right Rate, Right Time, Right Place® approach to nutrient management) on his farm to provide understanding of how various crop nutrients behave in the landscape, how they are used by crops and how to prevent their loss into the environment.
The Province of Manitoba, the Canadian Fertilizer Institute (CFI) and Keystone Agriculture Producers (KAP) signed a 4R Nutrient Stewardship memorandum of understanding (MOU) that formalizes a joint commitment to support agriculture production and environmental protection through improved fertilizer use. Manitoba is the first prairie province to complete an arrangement with CFI on nutrient management and adoption/impact measurement.

Strawberry Picking
A little boy asked me to come pick strawberries with him on a farm near Kingston… We got into a yellow school bus together and it took us to Fruition Berry Farm, where Christine and her team greeted us warmly and then showed us the path to the strawberry fields. After a quick course as we rode on a rumbling, tractor-pulled trailer (luckily, my gourd held up under the jiggling!), they gave us a row and we started picking strawberries. There were strawberries as far as the eye could see, and I felt like I was in a virgin forest surrounded by giant lanterns. Read more:
