Rockham Bay Mortehoe North Devon - Low Tide & Collier Wreck Explore 2014

More low tide exploring,this time at the picturesque Rockham Bay,which sadly has suffered badly in the recent storms & the access path has collapsed.
All around here is the scattered wreck of the S.S Collier 1914 mail steamer including the giant ships boiler(100 year centenary).

Drive through Mortehoe and Woolacombe, Devon

Two seaside villages in North Devon.

Just enjoyed a short break in North Devon on a campsite near Morte Hoe which is just above Woolacombe, exploring the beaches and coves and breathtaking coastline.
The Sea was crystal clear, deep blues and greens, the coastline visually stunning, mouth watering sunsets and a cool sea breeze to take away the heat. We felt as if we had stumbled into this fabulous place, totally unreal, like a dream only a dream that wakes you up and brings you to life, going back into the Real World is like going back to sleep by comparison.

Starting off coming into Woolacombe, a quick look at the beach area of the town which is a favourite haunt for surfers Lee Bay, a shot of the famous beach then a view of the sunset from the campsite at North Morte farm then the view overlooking Rockham Bay

6:21 Spot the dead sheep! not really, but lying prone in a field knocked out by the heat.

I'd like to recommend a great place to eat in Woolacombe called The Captains Table a Cafe and Restaurant, great food and service, located in West Road

Morte Point, Mortehoe Walks, South West Coast Path Walks, North Devon Walks, England UK

Morte Point, Mortehoe Walks was about 4.75 miles in distance on the South West Coast Path. The terrain of the route was a combination of quiet roads and a drive; woodland, rocky coastal and heathland paths. The walking was on undulating ground with a number of sections of steep ascent and descent which made this walk quite demanding. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. There were no stiles to negotiate.
