Andy's Driving videos around Derby, Derbyshire, UK :
Are you an ex-pat of Derby, feeling homesick? Or perhaps you just want a clear way of giving someone directions to a location in Derby or just want to show people your Derby Street. Well in this video and the many others I have made, you will be able to take a virtual drive around the city of Derby's streets as though you were in the driving seat. I use a dash-mounted camera, Traffic lights and heavy traffic have been edited out.
Best watched at 720p/1080p fullscreen (if your system/net connection is up to it).
Why not start with the original video and watch them all one by one...

Roebuck Gate Level Crossing
Wednesday June 5 2019 at 13.37. For the third time, the 12.30 Minehead to Bishops Lydeard (13.50) train pulled by 7802 Bradley Manor. You may think it is travelling faster than the line's 25 mph speed limit. This is the 6th crossing (of 7) on the West Somerset Railway. For anyone searching for the crossing the sign post helpfully points at it. When this line was operated by British Railways (until 1971) there were gates here and a crossing keeper living beside it. Now it probably ought to be called Roebuck Gateless. Heritage railways work best if they have a town at each end so plenty of local people use the service in addition to railway enthusiasts and holiday makers. Since 2007 the North York Moors Railway has had that but the West Somerset Railway only has a town at one end. The county town of Taunton is over 2 miles away on Network Rail tracks. As a result the NYMR, which runs 1 extra train a day each way, carries nearly twice as many passengers and is able to charge much higher ticket prices. It is no secret that the WSR has financial problems. It really needs to be able to run some of its own trains to Taunton even if they are diesel hauled. Instead there is talk of exactly the opposite. GWR running their trains on WSR tracks.
Keeneland: Bobby's Wicked One takes G3 Commonwealth
Robert Guidry's Bobby's Wicked One ran his record to 3 for 3 this year by edging a gritty Warrior's Club in Keeneland's $250,000, G3 Commonwealth Stakes. We speak with winning trainer Al Stall, jockey Miguel Mena and Warrior's Club's rider Jon Court.

We spoke with Mena the next day about Peace Achieved, who won a maiden race at Ellis Park, Kentucky Downs' $500,000 Gainesway Farm Juvenile and Keeneland's Grade 3 Dixiana Bourbon to earn a fees-paid spot in the Juvenile Turf.

Steam train @ Reading. Clan Line 35028 (VSOE). May 10
Venice-Simplon Orient (VSOE) charter train from Victoria - Oxford on 21 May 10. Seen initially from on board a passing South West Trains service from Waterloo. After stopping in platform 8 the steam engine leaves for Oxford. The engine broke down at Wokingham later in the day; causing chaos.
The Venice Simplon-Orient Express was a private luxury train service traveling from London to Venice.
The original company was founded by James Sherwood in 1982; five years earlier, in 1977, he purchased two of the original carriages at the auction when the Compagnie International des Wagons-Lits withdrew from the Orient Express service, passing on the service to the national railways of France, Germany, and Austria. Over the next few years, he spent a total of $16 million purchasing 35 sleeper, restaurant and Pullman carriages. On 25 May 1982, the first London-Venice run was made.
Feniton Level Crossing
Saturday August 4 2012 at 2.45. The 14.26 Exeter to London (17.49) train partly pulls into Feniton station whose platform is much too short. It was extended in 1992 but only to take 3 carriage trains. There is plenty of spare land at the far end of the station. About a minute of the wait here was cut out. This station was closed in 1967 just as new housing was being built here. It was reopened in 1971. About 2,000 people live in Feniton and 88 use the station on an average day.
