We started from Gandhidham and reached Roha nearly at 3:00 am, the route upto fort, I must admit, was petrifying. once at the top, we waited till dawn to capture the awesome sun rise.

Roha fort is one of the many forts of Kutch, Gujarat.
The fort is located on the periphery of Roha village, in Nakhatrana Taluka of Kutch. It was the seat of Roha Jagir.[1] One hundred twenty Soomra Rajput princesses sought asylum with Abda (Jagirdar of Abdasa) who died in the battle with Allaudin Khilji. Consequently all the princesses sacrificed their lives and took samadhi here, consequently, the place came to be known as Sumari Roha.[2][3][3][4]
Roha Fort is situated about 50 kilometers far away from Bhuj. It covers almost an area of 16 acres and it is connected by main road. Its height is 500 feet from the ground level and 800 feet from the sea level.[2][3][4]
Roha was the leading jagir of Kutch which is also known as ‘Roha Sumari Fort’. About 52 villages are under this fort. Sahebji, the brother of Rao Khengarji – I (1510–1585) set up the Roha village and died in the battle with Raysinhji Zala. Two big tanks were made by his successor Jiyaji and a fort was built by his son Thakore Noganji.[2][3][4]
The famous poet of Gujarat, Kalapi, wrote romantic poems at Roha hill because atmosphere of Roha was peaceful and close to the nature with many peacocks and other birds which can be seen here even now.[3]
Roha is now a major tourist attraction of Kutch.

रोहा किल्ला, भुज गुजरात
गुजरात मधील भुज शहरापासून 50 किमी वर असलेला रोहा किल्ला 500 फुट जमिनीपासून तर समुद्रसपाटीपासून 800 फुटांवर आहे.
रोहा किल्ल्यावर जाण्यास पायथ्याच्या रोहा गावाबाहेरून रस्ता आहे, हाच रस्ता आपल्याला किल्ल्याच्या पायर्‍यां पर्यत घेऊन जातो.
5 मिनिटात आपण प्रवेशद्वारासमोर पोहोचतो. अनेक मोर लांडोर खुप दिसतात.
किल्ल्यावर अनेक ईमारती अवशेष व ढासळत चाललेले वाडे आहेत. बुरूज, तटबंधी प्रवेशद्वार , मंदिर अस पाहण्यासारख खुप आहे.
ईतिहास:
राव खेनगारजी | (1510_1585) कच्छ राज्य बनवून राजा झाला. त्याचा भाऊ साहेबजी याने रोहा गाव वसवले.
पुढे हळवड चे रायसिंग झाला यासोबतचया लढाईत साहेबजी याचा मृतू पावले
विजयी जीयाजी याने गडावर 2 मोठे पाण्याचे टाके बनवले.
विरार त्याचाच मुलाने रोहा डोंगरावर हा रोहा किल्ला बांधला.
रोहा डोंगरावरील हवेशीर व शांत वातावरण तसेच आजूबाजूला बागडणारे मोर लांडोर हे पाहून
गुजरात मधील प्रसिद्ध कवी कलापी ठाकोरे यांनी अनेक प्रेमकविता लिहिल्या.
अजूनही अनेक मोर लांडोर पाहण्यास मिळतात.
सिंध मधील सुमारा उमरकोटची राजकन्या ने येथे समाधी घेतली व रोहा ला सुमारा रोहा संबोधले जाऊ लागले.
आताचे रोहाचे ठाकोरे श्री विरेंनसिह भुज शहरात रास्त आहेत..व ते रोहा किल्ला पर्यटन म्हणून विकसित होण्यासाठी प्रयत्नशील आहेत

Hey Guys!!!!
Another Day! Another Journey and yet another destination. The destination which is ancient and historical. My latest ride was towards Roha Fort. The oldest fort in Kachchh. once upon a time, it was considered as the revenue capital of Kachchh. For more details, you may google it. But this was a lovely sunny day.
It is just 18 Kilometers from Nakhatrana. Roads are good, as always in my Kachchh. The beauty of Kachchh gets glorified everyday when winter comes closer. It gives me a feeling which I can't explain in words but it's so pleasing. I started at 11:00 am (although did plant to start at 7:00) but it was Sunday and you know its bit hard to wake up on Weekend. I reached there at 11:45 am.
It was a bit hot too but I parked my bike down and under the hill and started climbing the hill which had pretty much well-built pathway passing through the Temple of Maa Ashapura. Took a blessing and started again to climb. And you don't know how hard it is to climb 100 odd steps in this hot day. Climbed in 10 minutes and explored this beautiful yet bit silent destination.
Came across many monuments, Prison(Jail), Masjid, Mahadev Temple and many more. Spoke to a person who takes care of this place and he told me that this fort is 400 years Old.
OMG!!!
Can you believe it. Anyway, in a desperation I came to know that I forgot to take water with me and that was pretty difficult to explore whole fort which took around 3 hours (still explored only 50%) without water. I was feeling so thirsty and empty, but kept on going. After I gave up exploring and shooting, I decided to go back to home with these beautiful memories in my heart and my mind.

TERA HERITAGE VILAGE OF KUTCH
The 500-year old Tera village in Abdasa taluka of Kutch has now been declared as heritage village by the Government of India. Built by Bhayats, the ruling family of Kutch, Tera has been declared a heritage village, solely for its priceless culture and unique architecture. The Jain temples of Tera are one of the five pilgrimages of Kutch called Nani Panchtirth. Besides, the temples of Goddess Mosheswari and goddess Ashapura are also famous.

રોહાનો કિલ્લો કચ્છ, ગુજરાતમાં આવેલો એક કિલ્લો છે.આ કિલ્લો કચ્છ જિલ્લાના નખત્રાણા તાલુકાના રોહા ગામની સીમા પર આવેલો છે. રોહાનો કિલ્લો ભુજથી ૫૦ કિમીના અંતરે આવેલો છે. તેનો વિસ્તાર લગભગ ૧૬ એકર છે અને તે મુખ્ય માર્ગ સાથે જોડાયેલ છે. તેની જમીન સપાટીથી ૫૦૦ ફુટ અને સમુદ્ર સપાટીથી ૮૦૦ ફુટ છે.રોહા જાગીરનું મુખ્ય મથક અહીં આવેલું હતું. અલાદ્દીન ખિલજી સાથેના યુદ્ધમાં મૃત્યુ પામેલા અબડાસાના જાગીરદાર અબડાની ૧૨૦ સુમરા રાજપૂત રાજકુમારીઓએ આશ્રય સ્થાન મેળવ્યું હતું. પછીથી તમામ રાજકુમારીઓએ અહીં સમાધિ લીધી હતી, તેથી આ સ્થળ સુમરી રોહા તરીકે પણ ઓળખાય છે.રોહાની જાગીરમાં ૫૨ ગામોનો સમાવેશ થતો હતો. રાવ ખેંગારજી પ્રથમના ભાઇ સાહેબજીએ રોહા ગામની સ્થાપના કરી હતી અને તેઓ રાયસિંહજી ઝાલા સાથેના યુદ્ધમાં મૃત્યુ પામ્યા હતા. તેમના અનુગામી જીયાજી દ્વારા બે મોટી ટાંકીઓ બનાવવામાં આવી હતી અને તેમના પુત્ર ઠાકોર નવઘણજી દ્વારા કિલ્લો બાંધવામાં આવ્યો હતો.ગુજરાતના પ્રખ્યાત કવિ કલાપીએ રોહાની ટેકરી પર શાંત અને રમણીય વાતાવરણમાં કવિતાઓ લખી છે. રોહામાં મોર અને અન્ય પક્ષીઓ હજુ પણ મોટી સંખ્યામાં જોવા મળે છે.રોહાનો કિલ્લો હવે કચ્છનું એક જોવાલાયક સ્થળ ગણાય છે.
