On this Tuesday in September 2015 over 5000 cattle were sold off in auctions like the one shown in this clip. The process is amazingly efficient and it's a perfect example of applied fast speech.
The auctioneer (second from right) calls out the current bid while his colleagues (to his left and right) scan the bidders for as little as a a nod or the raising of a finger for a new bid. Then they shout and the auctioneer increases the bid by a set increment and calls it out.
The fellow with the broom (which is actually dipped in yellow paint) marks beasts that the highest bidder wants excluded from the lot.

Quality lines of cattle at Roma
A total of 5500 head of cattle were penned today at the Roma store sale. Queensland Country Life's Penelope Arthur attended the sale and spoke to Cyril Close, TopX Roma, who said there was a better quality yarding of cattle lines this week.
