Oihan on his Varanasi experience and Roobaroo Walks
Oihan, an engineer by qualification and a traveller at heart, is currently cycling around the Indian subcontinent on his customised bicycle ride. He started all the way from Myanmar through north-east India, Bihar and plans to journey all the way to the amazing land of Ladakh. His love is not limited to bicycles alone - to our happiness, he loves exploring city on foot as well. Cycling and walking take you closer to people and places, he says. Gave us plenty of handy fundaes from replacing broken bicycle spokes and gears to tips on long distance travel and the dismayed political scene in Myanmar.
And here's what he had to say of his experience with us
Roobaroo ki Jhalkiyan
An emerging cultural hub of Banaras, Roobaroo House brings to you a range of workshops and performances showcasing the different facets of the Indian heritage in an engaging manner. Here's a compilation of some of them!
Varanasi, India | A City older than history
Varanasi also known as Banaras, Kashi is a kingdom of Lord Shiva. It is believed everything which happens in Varanasi happens only with his consent.
A city where birth and death is celebrated openly, it is believed that if a person dies in Varanasi and is cremated at Manikarnika ghat s/he attains Moksha! Varanasi the adobe of religion, food and culture.
Unfortunately during my visit all ghats were submerged under water so i couldn't see much of it. But this gave me an opportunity to explore Varanasi beyond ghats.
I took help from Roobaroo walks, Varansi who specialize in organizing group/custom walks. The team is super friendly and flexible and knows the exact beat of the city. I highly recommend going through with Roobaroo walks!
My stay was short but full of stories, i will be there soon to cover more!
