The Roofless Church (New Harmony, Indiana)
In the small town of New Harmony, Indiana, is an unusual architectural curiosity: the Roofless Church. Built in 1960, to be simple and yet emphasis deeper truths, there’s really nothing else like it. It’s four brick walls and an open courtyard for praying and meditating upon God. The central concept is that we put too much emphasis on buildings and not enough on the people inside: cultivating faith, much like grain in a field, is where it’s at.

This is a quick comp of some footage that I shot in New Harmony, Indiana on 11/12/2016. The building that's highlighted here is the Roofless Church, a modernist masterpiece by the architect Philip Johnson, which was completed in 1960.

Is a new harmony possible without the presence of history?
Is a new harmony possible in a developing community, if all is destroyed and built upon? The ripple effect is present and every change has the power to bring harmony or destruction to the person standing next to you.

Yes I walked across the river to get some of these shots and as for the little boy playing he was my nephew and he wasn't in any kind of danger he wasn't really standing up.
Becky took the flood of 2011 and 3 other pictures all others are by me.
The music is not by me and I do not claim the music.

May 27, 2006 – May 30, 2019
God’s precious gift to Gayle and Mark arrived by a phone call on Memorial Day Weekend, 27 May 2006 when Anna was born in Nogales, Arizona. Anna was adopted a few weeks later and she bestowed great joy and happiness to her parents and all those who met her.
Anna had a special love for music, sports, reading, animals, and traveling. She played the French horn and performed in the Vail Youth Symphony., Vail, Arizona. She had a solo part in her first performance in December 2018 and her last performance was on May 4, 2019. Anna also demonstrated great talent playing the piano.
Anna enjoyed downhill skiing, playing tennis with her mom, and she achieved the orange & white belt level in Tung Soo Do, a form of defensive martial arts. In arts and literature, Anna enjoyed drawing anime characters, attending plays, and reading a variety of books. Anna purchased and cared for her own dog, Peaches. After a trip to Australia in December 2016, Anna adopted a penguin and had a sweater knitted for it.
As a world traveler, Anna has visited 4 continents, 21 countries and 26 states. When Anna was 8, she began selecting family vacations to Japan, England, China, Australia, and Peru.
Anna was being bullied at her school at Leman Academy, Sierra Vista Arizona. Pleas for help from the Principal and emails to the school administrators were ignored. Even with counseling, Anna's self esteem was destroyed by Leman Academy and Anna committed suicide. Anna died just 3 days after turning 13 years.
Although our prayers were not answered to heal Anna, she has answered other prayers through the gift of life. Anna is organ donor and she saved six lives - Anna's heart still beats. She will help about 100 more people improve quality of life thru her gift of tissue donations. Hundreds more will be helped indirectly thru her generous gifts involving six disease research programs to help women and more specifically, Hispanic women. Anna will forever be a hero.
Please remember Anna for her kindness, generosity, and love.
New Harmony Indiana
This presentation is about a little town in the Midwest that has absolutely captured me. When I need a long weekend getaway to relax this is my go to place. It’s hard to describe New Harmony Indiana. It’s eclectic, a garden town, romantic, a place of peace, a spiritual place.
It really is not suited for kids, there isn’t anything there for them, and they will be bored stiff. In other words this is a place where you get away from your kids. I know that may sounds mean, but hey, you that have kids know that sometimes you need a break from all kids – including yours.
No, this place is better suited for couples wanting quite time, people who love history and nostalgia and those who find peace dwelling amongst well-manicured hedges and flowers.
New Harmony is a small town with a population of around eight hundred, but those 800 people are very proud of their little town and everything I have seen has been immaculately kept. The really neat thing is everything is in walking distance.
Some things you should do when you go to New Harmony
Visit the gardens interspersed all over town.
See the sculptures
Visit the water fountains
Walk around the lake
Stay at New Harmony Inn
Eat at least one meal at the Red Geranium Restaurant
Visit the hedge maze
Take the walking tour the visitor center offers (most excellent)
Rent a bicycle built for two or a golf cart if that is more your style.
Take in some of the stores around Main Street (they are soooo eclectic)
Sara’s Harmony Way is a must visit for coffee or wine.
Visit the Working’s Man Institute (this is a must)
Visit the New Harmony Theatre when there is play or concert in town.
The Main Café makes the best breakfast anywhere!
And there are many more places to eat and visit all within walking distance - sooo much more. If you go and like it feel free to send me a gift certificate for a night’s stay at the New Harmony Inn – LOL!!! Seriously if you live in the Midwest you should consider this place. Guys this just might be what you and the little lady need. Below are some links that will help you.

The spirits that haunt community house no. 2, and what they want.
The dark spirits that push people downstairs in a family home.
The haunted theater and its basement. Who or what lurks in the darkness?
The haunted Gym that was used as a make-shift morgue after a tornado ripped through a neighboring town killing hundreds. Many took their last breaths in this building. Who is the little girl that haunts this structure?
