Roque Nublo is a volcanic rock on the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. It is 67 m tall, and its top is 1,813 m above sea level. The Roque Nublo is the third altitude of the island of Gran Canaria, after the Morro de la Agujereada with 1,956 meters, and the Pico de las Nieves with 1,949 meters.

The centre of the Island and the highest point.
Amazing feeling! One of the Must to do in Gran Canaria. We did it with our twin girls who are 2 years old (in Feb 2019).
We left the stroller in the car and went up.
Take water and wear soft shoes! It cost nothing to go up. Ha a good feeling and nice view!

The Roque Nublo, more simply known as Roque Nublo is one of the most emblematic of the island of natural spaces Gran Canaria ( Canary Islands ). It is located inside the Nublo Rural Park and is located in the geographical center of the island, land of the municipality of Tejeda, in a very steep area. Next to Roque Nublo are other unique, such as rock formations called Fraile Roque and La Rana.
Of volcanic origin, Roque 80 meters above its base and 1813 meters above sea level rises sea. In ancient times it was used as a place of worship Aboriginal. In the year 1987 it was declared Natural Area and in 1994 was declared Rural Park. The largest altitude of Gran Canaria is 1949 meters with the Pico de las Nieves. The rock is located in the center of the island, in a secluded area on the territory of the municipality of Tejeda. In the Antiquity, the Roque Nublo is used as a place of worship by the Guanches, while only inhabitants of the island. The Roque Nublo and its surroundings have been protected since 1987 with the creation of a natural area, a status that has evolved in a rural park in 1994. It is located at the geographic center of the island in a very bleak in the town of Tejeda. The rock of volcanic origin, rises to 80 m on its base and 1,813 m above sea level and was originally used as a place of worship by the Canarian aborigines. The Roque Nublo is the second highest mountain in the island, after the 1949 m of Pico de las Nieves.
The monolith is walking access from the car park situated 30 minutes away, so there are many summer tourists visit the rock. The plateau at Roque Nublo offers a beautiful view of the island, on the island of Tenerife located Pico del Teide, El Fraile (a rock that looks like a monk) and the Pico de las Nieves, the highest point of Gran Canaria.
The summit rock Roque Nublo rises about 65 meters above its surroundings, a relatively flat peak level. 500 meters southeast of the Roque Nublo is 1737 meters high Roque de San José in front, another striking rock tower is the El Fraile (the monk). The Roque Nublo is the remnant of a once much higher stratovolcano. The emergence of this volcano began about 4.2 to 4.6 mya with thick mafic lava flows, the eroded remnants of a former volcano from the Miocene superimposed and penetrated up to 20 km far from the coast. The outbreaks lasted approximately 1.5 million years, which is increasingly the aided rock about 3.9 mya to prior trachyte and phonolite changed.

Road trip to Roque Nublo- Gran Canaria
This video is a summary of my recent road trip in Gran Canaria in March 2018. In this road trip, I covered many places but my main interest was to explore the mountain villages and to see The Roque Nublo; a volcanic rock standing tall reaching around 67 m with its top at 1,813 m above mean sea level.
