The mining town or Røros was established in 1644 after the discovery of ore in the area - mainly copper. It has been an active mining town from that time and up until 1977 when mining here was ceased. Røros is a very culturally and historically rich town in Norway and is 1 of 7 UNESCO world cultural heritage sites in Norway. A visit to the UNESCO village of Røros, famous for it's success in the mining of copper for centuries.
I apologise for the bad audio quality in this specific video. There was a lot of wind and noise and, due to lack of equipment and time to do a proper voice-over, this was the best achievable quality. I hope it doesn't annoy anyone. Thanks for watching!

I am visiting Røros in Sør Trøndelag county of Norway. My travel tip for you: if you are thinking to go to Norway, you cannot leave Røros behind. It is impossible. You have to set up your destination to this town for at least one day. Probably two.
Take a slow walk on the streets and see norwegian heritage from 1600s. Visit Røros Museum and figure out why the city is here on the first place. See the beauty of Unesco's World Heritage.
Visit local galleries and say hello to the artists who memorizes Røros in their own way. Go to church and pay for your coffee in the amazing coffee shops with free WiFi and nicest people.

Røros Mining Town - UNESCO World Heritage Site
Røros Mining Town is an interesting UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's an old copper mining town in central Norway, not far from the Swedish border. It was set up in the 18th and 19th centuries, and was once among the world's largest copper producers. There's some incredible history to see here!

We decided to stop for the night at a small town in Norway! A UNESCO World Heritage Site! Røros is a town founded in 1644 when copper ore was found in the area! It is one of the oldest towns of wooden buildings in Europe!

Røros Norway - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The mining town of Røros is sometimes called Bergstaden which means the mining town due to its historical notoriety for copper mining. It is one of two towns in Norway that were historically designated mining towns, along with the silver-town of Kongsberg. The modern-day inhabitants of Røros still work and live in the characteristic 17th and 18th century buildings which have led to its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. Røros has about 80 wooden houses, most of them standing around courtyards. Many retain their dark pitch-log facades, giving the town a medieval appearance
