This is a video of our excursion we chose while in Nassau this year. Sandy Toes is a short 20-30 minute ferry ride from the Paradise Island ferry terminal. The place has a little something for everyone! This was the best excursion I've done in Nassau!!

Come along for our excursion to Sandy toes, Rose Island.
Rose Island is a private island 25 min off of Nassau by boat. Crystal blue waters, white sands and the newly added swimming with pigs. This simple island gives you a glimpse of the beauty of one of the 700 Bahamas islands.
Our day started with a welcome drink and quick boat ride off of paradise island, as we viewed the mansions of paradise island. We docked at rose island to tan, drink, swim with piggies and relax (option to snorkle- we opted out). Mid day we were served charcoal grilled chicken, rice and beans salad with a side of amazing views. This is a must do excursion if you are visiting Nassau and is way more cost effective then going out to Exuma for the day. When we ended up back on Nassau we decided to take a quick stop at the Queen's staircase also known as 66 steps which was not too far from paradise island. Super beautiful alley surrounded by lush greenery followed by the 66 steps carved out by slaves in the late 1900's. A great way to check out some of Bahamas history and get a workout in.

My friend and I flew into Nassau, Bahamas for three days just missing the much anticipated Bahamas Election day on May 7. On Friday we took a day cruise to the beautiful secluded island, Rose Island, just 40 minutes east of New Providence Island. Saturday evening we made a trip to the Atlantis resort to see what a stay there would look like. Other than that, we spent good times in the heart of Downtown Nassau where we stayed shopping, eating, partying, and having a great time.
Nassau nor Paradise Island nor New Providence island is not off the beaten path but I had always wanted to get a taste of the Bahamas firsthand and with my own eyes. Most people take cruises there, I flew there. I stayed in a budget hotel rather than a 5 star place on the beach. My place of stay was fairly close to all the shops, cruise port, and nightlife clubs. Although I didn't break much of a travel barrier here, at the time I hit rock bottom of being unemployed and the timing to the Bahamas couldn't have been any better.
