163. Rotary Park, Echuca Victoria
The Rotary Park in Echuca Victoria provides a perfect free camp while staying in Echuca to see the Murray River and the many local attractions.
There is heaps of space with upper parking areas all around the oval and overlooking the Campaspe River which comes off the Murray. There is also a large open lower level to park right on the river. It also has a miniature train track on the lower level.
The campground is for self contained vehicles only.
There are 2 blocks of toilets however both were locked during our stay.
Water is available and there is a Dump point also.
It is pet friendly.
We had great Telstra, Vodafone and Optus coverage.
The campground is only a few minutes drive to the town of Echuca.
The cost to stay is Free however a donation of $5 is requested for use of Dump point and water.
Our stay was 18-19th November 2017

Canoeing Trip along Glenelg River
Join the adventure in Lower Glenelg Nation Park as we, Melbourne Young Hikers tried the new expedition on the river.
We started at Pritchards campsite in south-west Victoria and finished at Dry creek on the border of Victoria and South Australia.
420 kilometres south west of Melbourne is where we started our 2 day-canoeing trip.
3 canoes and 1 kayak for 7 explorers.
30.9 kilometres is how far we didn't use our hiker legs.

Port Albert best free RV camping, best fish meal Prom Country Gippsland
Port Albert is the first port in Victoria supplying gold miners and the fledgling State with all their needs. It is a very tidy village full of history. The free RV camp is beautiful and right on the foreshore overlooking the lagoon with sights of the famous Ninety Mile Beach, Australia's longest beach and one will get the best fish meal this side of Melbourne at the Customs House Inn. It is a warming, full of nostalgia friendly inn, right next to the site of the Port Albert Hotel that burnt down recently. The fish is plenty-full, cooked any way you like and its taste is superb.

Camping at Mount Howitt Victoria Hans Kosmer YouTube
This dream was born while camping for three months at the Catherine Springs on Mount Speculation (1648m) in February 1961. I was part of a crew assessing the Alpine Ash resources in the Terrible Hollow, part of the Wonnangatta Valley. The Alpine Walking Trail follows the mountain ridges of Mt Speculation, Mt Buggery, Crosscut Saw and Mt Howitt providing the most stunning views across the alpine mountains. Walk the trail in summer and you will also be rewarded by an abundance of alpine wild flowers. We are so fortunate to be able to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of endless unspoilt mountains and forest ecosystems. I walk here to be free to think and create. The power is within me and there appear to be no limits to what I can achieve.
