We went to the Rotterdam zoo recently, which is quite big. It is divided into regions like Asia, Europe, North America, South America which has an Amazonica park and the Oceanarium. It is one wide diversity of animals like red panda, Okapi, Polar bear and more, which are kept nicely and in big spaces. With 1.6 million visits per year, the Diergaarde Blijdorp zoo in Rotterdam is one of the most popular attractions in the Netherlands, as well as one of the prettiest zoos in Europe. The goals of the Diergaarde Blijdorp zoo are: nature preservation, recreation, education, and applied scientific research. An important part of the zoo is the Oceanium. Some eight million liters (2 million gallons) of sea water circulate through the Oceanium. Due to a unique circulation system, this entire water mass is filtered and pumped every 90 minutes.

Diergaarde Blijdorp (lit. Blijdorp Zoo), also named Rotterdam Zoo, is one of the oldest zoos in the Netherlands. In 2017, it celebrated its 160th anniversary. Divided into several zoogeographic regions(artic, africa, america, asia and australia), the 26-hectare (64.25-acre) Blijdorp Zoo boasts well over 180 species. It has a zoo shop, multiple cafes, and an information centre.
Its a good place to spend a day in.

My visit to Rotterdam Zoo, definitely need a full day to see the animals. I saw most. The Gorilla mother and baby we're really cute, so were the Meerkats. Numerous eateries and kiddie play areas. And the Jungle train for those who need a ride............like me! Easy to find, I walked there from the Central Station, no problems????

The Blijdorp zoo in Rotterdam, the Netherlands is fully wheelchair accessible. Flat terrain, accessible toilets, wheelchair rentals. A special designated route for assistance dogs just opened.
The parking ticket machine is lowered.
Volunteers with great knowledge answer your questions at their 'table', where you can hold and touch items as bones, fur and other zoo related objects.
Shocking! Kudu attacks Giraffe at Blijdorp Zoo Rotterdam!
Original Video!! On June 13th 2017 I filmed a kudu that was attacking a giraffe at a zoo in Rotterdam - The Netherlands, in front of many children! It was shocking, seeing it took a couple of minutes for someone to arrive! Apparently they are put together at the zoo which I think is ridiculous since they have nowhere to run or hide! Fortunately the kudu was taken back and the giraffe survived with little damage.

Welcome back everyone! Join us on an adventure to Rotterdam Zoo in Holland (Yes you may call it The Netherlands, but we are from 'ull lol)
We travelled to The port of Hull, which is only a ten minute taxi ride from where we live! Part One has already been published so check that out! Day Two, After staying over in Rotterdam at Hotel Light, we made our way to the Zoo! We got the Full day at Diergaarde Blijdorp (Rotterdam Zoo) and I tell you what?! This is the best Zoo I have ever been too. after seeing so many amazing animals it was time to say goodbye Rotterdam and Head back to The ferry back Home to Hull.
