In Budapest, the three main railway stations are the Eastern (Keleti), Western (Nyugati) and Southern (Déli), with other outlying stations like Kelenföld. Of the three, the Southern is the most modern but the Eastern and the Western are more decorative and architecturally interesting.

The MÁV M41 series was built in 1969 and 1972 to 1984 in 107 copies to the MÁV delivered four-axle diesel locomotive which was to replace the last remaining operational steam locomotives. Machines of this type were also produced for Gysev and OSE.
The history of this locomotive goes to the MÁV -series M46 back from 1969 by Ganz MÁVAG two similar locomotives for testing the MAV has been sent. The sample locomotives had a single-ended funds cab and a 12-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine from full , which made at 1500 rpm 880 kW (1200 hp).
From this locomotive developed full-MÁVAG the final design 1972 M41, then the last steam locomotives were the be replaced on non-electrified routes, especially the MÁV-series 424 . locomotives were liberally used to its mass, the freight service to the express service. In terms of their technical data, there are different data in the literature. The technical data correspond to the book locomotives Austrian Railways. The engine noises missed the machine the name Rattler.
After 2002, the machines were gradually repowered and received new engines of MTU or Caterpillar . You are at the present time as indispensable as ever and will probably be in use until 2017. In the OSE locomotives are already retired.

Lake Balaton is a freshwater lake in the Transdanubian region of Hungary. It is the largest lake in Central Europe and one of Hungary's foremost tourist destinations. The Zala River provides the largest inflow of water to the lake, and the canalised Sió is the only outflow.
The mountainous region of the northern shore is known both for its historic character and as a major wine region, while the flat southern shore is known for its resort towns. Balatonfüred and Hévíz developed early as resorts for the wealthy, but it was not until the late 19th century when landowners, ruined by Phylloxera attacking their grape vines, began building summer homes to rent out to the burgeoning middle classes.
In Hungarian, the lake is known simply as Balaton, or the Balaton. This name derives from the Slavic blato meaning 'mud' or 'swamp'. Slavic prince Pribina began to build in January 846 a fortress as his seat of power and several churches in the region of Lake Balaton, in a territory of modern Zalavár surrounded by forests and swamps along the river Zala. His well fortified castle and capital of Balaton Principality that became known as Blatnohrad or Moosburg (Swamp Fortress) served as a bulwark both against the Bulgarians and the Moravians.
The Romans called the lake Lacus Pelso (Lake Pelso). Pelso derives from a local name for the lake, perhaps from the Illyrian language, as the Illyrians once populated the region.
The German name for the lake is Plattensee. It is unlikely that the Germans named the lake so for being shallow since the adjective platt is a Greek loanword that was borrowed via French and entered the general German vocabulary in the 17th century. It is also noteworthy that the average depth of Balaton (3.2m) is not extraordinary for the area (cf. the average depth of the neighbouring Neusiedler See, which is roughly 1m).

Summer Afternoon In Balatonfüred,Hungary
Nyári délután,Balatonfüreden,Magyarország
18 august,2018
Balatonfüred város Veszprém megyében, a Balatonfüredi járás székhelye. A település eredetileg Szent István király korától 1946-ig Zala vármegyéhez tartozott.„A Balaton északi partjának fővárosa”, a Balaton-part legrégebbi üdülőhelye. Kereskedelmi szálláshelyeken eltöltött vendégéjszakák tekintetében Magyarország hatodik legnépszerűbb települése. Ismertségét a Balaton közelsége mellett elsősorban szénsavas forrásainak és mediterrán jellegű klímájának köszönheti. Jelentős vitorláskikötő.
Területe három részből tevődik össze: a vasútvonal két oldalán húzódó őstelepülés, a gyógyforrások körül kialakult régi gyógyhely, valamint ennek két oldalához csatlakozóan a legújabb Füred üdülő/idegenforgalmi életét befogadó központok, szállók, kemping, üdülőtelep stb. térsége. Az egykori Balatonarács községet 1954-ben csatolták hozzá.
Balatonfüred (German: Bad Plattensee) is a popular resort town in Veszprém county, in Hungary, with a population of 13,000, situated on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. It is considered to be the capital of the Northern lake shore and is a popular yachting destination. It is also a favorite location for fishing, carp being the most common catch, although the introduction of eels and other non-indigenous species has caused ecological damage in recent years.
The town has two marinas, a string of carbonated mineral water springs, listed buildings from the middle of the 18th and the 19th centuries and fine restaurants. It has modern hotels and guest-houses to accommodate about fifty thousand visitors in the summer. The nearest villages around Balatonfüred are Tihany, Aszófő, Balatonszőlős and Csopak, all renowned for their wine, land and beaches. Highway No 71 crosses the town as well as a single track railway line between Budapest and Tapolca. Former large employer in town included the Ship-yard, whereas today the largest employer is the State Heart Hospital. The largest industry is catering and providing boarding and other accommodations. The town has a pier, a harbour, a large camping site and several private marinas.
Balatonfured beach
Visitors come to enjoy the mild micro-climate, beautiful scenery, the local wine, made of Olaszrizling grapes, and sailing and swimming facilities, as well as to revive the two-century-old tradition of socializing around spas, bathing and vacationing. The main events of the two-month-long summer holiday season include a ball for first-time visitors with a beauty contest and a wine-tasting festival, both in August.
Füred (short for Balatonfüred) has six comprehensive schools, three grammar schools, a secondary modern school for viniculture, the Lajos Loczy High School and Janos Ferencsik Music School (conservatory). A number of choirs, bands and sporting clubs are also present. The town has a local TV studio and a monthly newspaper. Füred has a newly built conference and sport centre as well.
Swans on the lake. Notice the red sandstone rocks on the shore
There are three churches in town: a typical red-sandstone Catholic church, a white Protestant church and a modern Evangelist church. A Pentecostal, American type of Christian denomination Faith Church is also active in the former Communist party headquarters.
Balatonfüred has a number of conference halls, and a large clinic for heart patients. It also has a number of wine cellars that sell white house wine in the vineyards on the hillside overlooking the town and the lake.
In winter, the lake may freeze over for weeks so that skaters and ice boaters take over.
Balatonfüred - Jókai Passanger Steamer Ship - Gőzös - Balaton - HUNGARY 4K
I really enjoyed filming this clip. I added a short intro, just to show the surrounding harbor, to set up the location, but the rest is a single long shot of the departing ship with the beautiful sunset all around.
The Jókai Steamer is currently in service on Lake Balaton, in the Balatonfured area.
A Jókai az ötödik balatoni gőzhajó, Budapesten (Óbudán) készült, 1913. június 2-án tette meg első próbaútját a tavon. 1964-ben felújították, 1980-ban átkerült a Tiszára.

Tihany is a village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton on the Tihany Peninsula. The whole peninsula is a historical district. The center of the district is the Benedictine Abbey, which was founded in 1055 AD by András (Andrew) I, who is buried in the crypt. The founding charter of this abbey is the first extant record of Hungarian language, preserved in Pannonhalma Benedictine Archabbey. The church itself was rebuilt in baroque style in 1754. The still functioning abbey is a popular tourist attraction due to its historical and artistic significance. It also has the best view of Lake Balaton.

Fertoed-Eszterhaza (Hungary) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Fertoed-Eszterhaza in Hungary.
In a suburb of Sofia, capital of Bulgaria, and located on the slopes of the Vitoscha Mountains, is the country’s most worshipped-in historic building, Boyana Church. It actually comprises three churches that over the centuries have grown into a single entity. The first building covers an area of six square metres and after two centuries, a further two storey high church was added. The adjoining third church followed in the nineteenth century and is a unique combination of various architectural epochs. The view of the western wall and circular ceiling of the Narthex, is quite breathtaking as they are completely covered with art. Restoration work has taken place for several years and since 2002 Boyana Church has been open to the public.
