Exploring California: Big Break Regional Shoreline
After hearing about a few of my adventures my buddy Matt asked me if I had ever kayaked Big Break Regional Shoreline. When I said no, he instantly invited me and a few other friends out for a day of exploring in mid May. I'm all about Exploring California and I really enjoy kayaking so I jumped on the chance.
Our group met at the Kayak Rental Company, Big Break Kayak and took off. We explored Gilligan's Island, saw a wide variety of animal life, and enjoyed the weather and time spent together. We capped it off with a BBQ afterwards and great conversation.
If you have the chance visit Big Break Regional Shoreline and see what the Delta would look like without all of the levees. Big Break was formed with a levee broke and water gushed in to fill the island. The levee was never repaired and now the area is a beautiful place to explore.
To get there use this address in your GPS: 98 Big Break Rd, Oakley, CA
You can bring your own kayak or rent from Big Break Kayak. Their Facebook page is facebook.com/BigBreakKayak

I went to polliwog park a long while back with a friend, I never knew it got this flooded in the winter (rains). It happens like every year now.
