Hunter Valley Wineries, Cessnock in New South Wales, Australia
The Hunter Valley is just west of Newcastle in New South Wales, Australia.
Chartered wine tours can be booked operating out of Sydney or Newcastle. However, a self drive tour can be just as fun with more scenery to indulge in.
Wine is a big part of the Hunter Valley, but cheese & bread is also becoming part of a winery visit & some stock olive oil varieties.
Cessnock is just one part of the Hunter Valley, it's very beautiful & in the town itself early in the morning, you can smell the bakeries cooking bread & pastry which fill the cold morning air.
From Cessnock, you take a drive up Wine Country Drive & the little back roads have more wineries to discover & wines with beautiful flavour.
To visit this part of the world on a budget (if you're traveling on the cheap) you can get here from Sydney or Newcastle via the public transport network. Make sure your Opal Card (integrated electronic ticketing card) is topped up & you're traveling with ease.

This is part of a larger project around transport safety commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council. The driver is called Martyn Howell who works for Rover European Travel. During a short series of questions, we see some of the difficulties faced by staff in this field.

Newcastle 110 Route Final day of Service 17/2/19
17/2/19 marks the final day the 110 Replacement shuttle service operated in Newcastle, having started shortly after December 2014 when the train line beyond Hamilton station to Newcastle closed permanently.
When it first started it was serviced by Volvo B7RLE's with Volgren CR228L bodies from the then Newcastle State Transit Authority, when the first Volvo B7RLE Bustech VST's started arriving at STA Newcastle, they replaced the Volvo B7RLE Volgrens that operated on the route, when Keolis Downer trading as Newcastle Transport took over STA's Newcastle operations bus makes operating the shuttle remain largely unchanged but sometimes a BCI Citirider would operate the shuttle but Bustech VST's still largely remained on operating the shuttle. Very rarely through did some B12BLE Custom Coaches CB60 / EVO II bodied buses operated the 110 shuttle, unfortunately the Volgren CR228L buses never returned to operate the shuttle.
Early 2018 other local bus operators serviced the 110 Route, these include Rover Coaches Cessnock, Port Stephens Coaches and at one point Hunter Valley Buses Thornton. These operators only operated the 110 shuttle for a couple of months before Newcastle Transport took over 110 route operations again
Towards late 2018 Keolis Downer took delivery of Volvo B8RLE Bustech VST's built to STA specifications, these buses also operated the route along with B7RLE Bustechs counterparts. These were the last buses that Keolis downer had delivered that saw time on the 110 route.

Rover Motors MO5459 (Bustech XDI Cummins ISL)
Filmed 26/9/18 is this lovely 2013 Bustech XDI from Rover Motors. It entered service with Rover Motors in 2013 and is the only Bustech XDI currently in service at Rover Motors Cessnock.
Interior looks more coachy than your regular city service bus to be honest but don't let that let you down because the seats on this particular Bustech XDI are really soft and comfortable. When the bus is not hitting bumps in the road this Bustech XDI really feels like it gives a smooth ride.
Only downsides to this bus is as you go further up towards the back of the bus there's no stop buttons poles, instead their mounted on top of a strip near the roof but if you sit up the front of the bus where the wheelchair bay is this shouldn't be a problem as there's some poles there that have stop buttons fitted to them.

Cessnock Garbage
It’s been a bit since I put something up of an MJ GenV doing a proper run, so here is a lengthy video of one doing the job in Cessnock! I visited Cessnock in the Hunter Valley near the end of 2012, arriving quite early outside the council works depot to watch the trucks roll out, being just down the road from the council waste management facility - all very close! I watched each of the 4 residential side loaders depart just before 4:45am and off they went to lift the first bins nearby. They all disappeared for a while into their quadrants of the town, but eventually the flashing orange beacons popped up again along the main road and in some backstreets. On this Wednesday I managed to reach truck #42 on the western end of the regional city, spending a good hour with it and capturing the different light stages of your early morning garbage collection. You may notice it was garbage-only week during this video, as back then the council only had fortnightly recycling as the other pickups, however today a green lidded 240L for the newer garden organics service sits beside the garbage bins on that non-recycle week. I like the simple and original council signage seen here, although the newer vehicles have something a little different and brighter, which I will hopefully catch in future. As seems to be the case with a lot of the equipment in my uploads, #42 is yet another former truck from the area it is seen working in, simply upgraded years back with a newer version of what it is. Many thanks to the friendly and productive operator for letting me follow along too!
