The Rocky Horror Show at the Roxy Regional Theatre
Clarksville, TN -- Dig out your fishnet stockings and sharpen your stilettos ... that sweet transvestite and his motley crew are back! Here by popular demand, the Roxy Regional Theatre's revival of The Rocky Horror Show opens Friday, October 19th, at 8:00pm.
Richard O'Brien's cult favorite tells the story of Brad Majors (played by Rob Rodems) and his fiancée Janet Weiss (played by Kaitlin Doughty), two clean-cut young people on the way to visit an old college professor. When they run into trouble and seek help at the freaky Frankenstein mansion, little do they know that Dr. Frank N. Furter (played by Matt Varelia) is in the midst of one of his maniacal experiments!
Directed and choreographed by Tom Thayer, The Rocky Horror Show also features Ryan Bowie and Emily Eden as Riff Raff and Magenta, Michelle Foletta as Columbia, Colin Ryan as Eddie, Matt Casey as Rocky, Humberto Figueroa and Nicole Powell as phantoms, and John McDonald as Dr. Scott. Audiences will be doing the Time Warp to live music provided by Tom Thayer on piano, Jarrod Jackson on guitar, Bruce Ervin on bass, Thad Wallus on drums, and Johnny Tubbs on saxophone.
The Rocky Horror Show is made possible in part through the generous support of Fort Campbell MWR.
The Rocky Horror Show runs October 19th through November 10th, playing Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm, with a special midnight showing on Saturday, October 27th, and a 2:00pm matinee on Saturday, November 3rd.
Tickets are $25.00 and may be purchased online at roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at 931.645.7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday). Military and APSU students with a current ID can enjoy two-for-one-tickets to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening performances during the run.

The Impact of Regional Theatre (Working In The Theatre #416)
Among the topics our guests Alan Brown, Cynthia Hedstrom and Howard Shalwitz talk with moderator Ben Cameron about are how you measure the value of art and its' impact on audiences; what's important to audiences and how you make theatre interesting enough to draw them to a show and whether you can make them an active part of the experience or should their role simply be to observe and appreciate what is presented?
An acclaimed fixture on New York television and in the theatre community for 30 years, the American Theatre Wing's Working in the Theatre offers an unprecedented forum for the meeting of theatrical minds.
American Theatre Wing’s Working in the Theatre documentary series features the most fascinating people on the stage, behind the scenes, and in the audience. From Tony Awards® and Obie Awards® winning artists to the next generation of theatre makers, we capture theatre’s inner-workings, industry luminaries, and unique stories that surround important work.

Damage Left in Wake of Clarksville Storms
A strong storm knocked down trees and power lines in Clarksville Friday. It's the 3rd day in a row for severe weather in Montgomery County. All those storms made for a lot of cleaning up. Thursday afternoon's storm put a beat down on Austin Peay State Unviersity.Rain was coming in sheets, says APSU's Bill Persinger. It was very hurricane-like is the way I'd describe it.The light of a new day reveals the damage. Large trees were knocked down, along with fences in front of the President's house. The entire campus was littered with leaves and branches, and clean up is a bear. They got a one ton dump truck fixing to be here in a little while, says APSU Grounds Keeper Chris Rittenberry. They done hauled 8 or 10 this morning.A metal sculpture outside one of the buildings was toppled over and twisted up, but the damage wasn't limited to the landscape. A window was blown out on the theatre and dance building on campus. The lawn was littered with roof shingles. We had some roof damage on several buildings, says Persinger. The building to my left has extensive damage, pulled a section of roof off leaving only insulation.Montgomery County EMS tracked the latest storm as it moved into the Clarksville area this afternoon. It's moving at 16mph, storm activity, says Montgomery County EMS' Jerry Buchanan. Hail is detected and probability of hail is 100%.Another body shot from mother nature for a community that's already seen more than its share, and as badly as they need rain, emergency workers are hoping for some boring weather this weekend. We welcome the rain, but we don't welcome the storm damage that came along with it, says Buchanan. Some Montgomery County storm victims are still without power. Officials at Austin Peay say insurance adjusters will be on campus Monday to begin estimating the cost of repairs.
