Walton-on-the-Naze Pier Amusement Arcade Walkthrough
Filmed on September 6th 2017.
Following last week's tour of the Walton on the Naze Pier Funfair, let's take a look inside the amusement arcade. No kiddie rides for my ride enthusiast subscribers, I'm afraid, but there were plenty of other cool amusement machines to be seen. I probably spent a good hour in that arcade, playing on the pusher machines and winning voodoo doll keyrings!

Brighton Pier Virtual Tour VR 360
Join us to this virtual Tour of the Brighton Pier and see with us the Palace of Fun, the amusement park, with various fairground rides and roller coasters and more!
The Brighton Palace Pier, commonly known as Brighton Pier or the Palace Pier is a Grade II listed pleasure pier in Brighton, England, located in the city centre opposite the Old Steine. Opening in 1899, it was the third pier to be constructed in Brighton after the Royal Suspension Chain Pier and the West Pier, but is now the only one still in operation. It is managed and operated by the Eclectic Bar Group.
The Palace Pier was constructed as a replacement for the Chain Pier, which collapsed in 1896 during construction. It quickly became popular, and had become a frequently-visited theatre and entertainment venue by 1911. Aside from closures owing to war, it continued to hold regular entertainment up to the 1970s. The theatre was damaged in 1973 and following a buy-out was demolished in 1986, changing the pier's character from seaside entertainment to an amusement park, with various fairground rides and roller coasters.
The pier remains popular with the public, with over four million visitors in 2016, and has been featured in many works of British culture, including the gangster thriller Brighton Rock, the comedy Carry On at Your Convenience and the Who's concept album and film Quadrophenia.
You can enjoy roller coasters, play arcade games at The Palace of Fun and eat in restaurants and fast food places.

Liverpool to Llandudno Pier aboard the Paddle Steamer Waverley
On 1st September 2015, we were lucky enough to be onboard The Waverley when she sailed from Liverpool to Llandudno. She is the only sea-going paddle steamer in the world today, and this was the first time a ship of this size had docked at the end of Llandudno pier for donkey's years (health and safety something or other put a stop to all that when I was still in short pants). For me, the thrill was in the romance of those North Wales steamers of old, but there was real excitement on the approach as the sea was a little choppy and a couple of attempts were needed to avoid smashing the boat into the pier (maybe those health and safety chappies had a point). Memories of day trips off the end of the pier to Puffin Island and the Isle Of Man with mum and dad came flooding back, and I wished they were here to see a proper ship at the end of the pier again.... they'd have loved that. Fortunately, their legacy is that Llandudno is now in the family DNA - so in a way it's impossible to ever come here 'without them' xx

Butlins
Butlins is a chain of large holiday camps in the United Kingdom. Butlins was founded by Billy Butlin to provide affordable holidays for ordinary British families.
Between 1936 and 1966, ten camps were built, including one in Ireland and one in the Bahamas. In the 1970s and 1980s, Butlins also operated numerous large hotels, including one in Spain, a number of smaller holiday parks in England and France, and a revolving restaurant in the Post Office Tower in London.

UFO Sighting? Barry, Wales
Video of brilliant orbs in the evening sky has a mystery sting in the tail
A COUPLE from Barry are creating an X-Files stir with a video they shot last month of mysterious lights in the evening sky above Dow Corning.
Steve and Gill Ryan have no explanation for the strange sight they witnessed as they returned home to the town one night from a visit to their daughter who lives in Caerphilly.
Steve told The GEM: It was a Wednesday night, just after 8pm, and we were making our way back through Barry.
We got off the Docks Link road, drove past Lidl store and went through Cadoxton.
As we came to the hill with Victoria Park on your left and the junior school on your right we saw two brilliant lights in the sky we knew they couldnt be stars, they were far too big.
We drove down Vere Street and at the bottom turned left and went under Cadoxton railway bridge.
The couple parked on the far side of the roundabout just through the bridge, on Cardiff Road, and saw the two lights in the sky straight ahead (Dow Corning lights can be seen on the video to the left).
Steve said: The lights were static in the sky, and then moved slowly. Id describe them as brilliant orbs.
Gill quickly got her Samsung mobile phone out to record the sight.
She said: I put it on maximum zoom and trained it on the lights.
They definitely were not from an aeroplane or a helicopter. There was no sound and from that distance we would have heard something.
The couples son Jack, aged five, and granddaughter, Caitlin, aged two, were very excited by the lights, but grandson Kaiden, aged one, slept blissfully through the commotion.
The video lasts about two minutes.
At first the lights are stationary, they then move lower in the sky. One light disappears and then reappears. At one minute 45 seconds into the video a rather strange thing happens: three black objects seem to be shot out from one of the orbs, the first hundreds of feet into the air!
Steve and Gill dont have a rational explanation, and replaying the image on the computers at The GEM hasnt resolved the mystery.
Do you have an explanation? If so email us at ggem@internet-today.co.uk
