The Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, is a national museum which displays the National Collection of Arms and Armour.
Royal Armouries Museum is part of the Royal Armouries family of museums, the other sites being the Tower of London, its traditional home, Fort Nelson, Hampshire, for the display of its National Collection of Artillery, and permanent galleries within the Frazier History Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. The Royal Armouries is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The Royal Armouries Museum is a £42.5 million purpose built museum located in Leeds Dock that opened in 1996. Royal Armouries Museum collection was previously on display or in storage at the Tower of London where the Royal Armouries still maintains a presence and displays in the White Tower.
As at all UK National Museums, entry of Royal Armouries Museum is free, though certain extra attractions are charged for. The Royal Armouries Museum used live presentations in addition to the static displays to explain the collection. Due to a reorganisation of the Museum in 2010/11, prompted by funding cuts, the interpretation department closed on 31 March 2011.

In this video for something a bit different I am showing you some of the fantastic collection of weapons and armour on display at the the Royal Armouries in Leeds where I live.
I don't really do vlog videos but I know a lot of my subscribers are interested in knives, swords, armour, guns etc. so I thought this would be of interest! I like to look at these things out of interest and also to be inspired by the level of craftsmanship on display.
I especially like to see the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings items, I hope the Game of Thrones exhibition might go there one day too (fingers crossed!).
I made the video in 4K so there should be lots of detail in it if you want to pause it and look at anything in detail.

This video is in no way affiliated with the armouries I was going there anyway for myself and then realised on the bus there that you lot might like to see it :)
It was all filmed on an iPhone 7 so apologies if the video isn't very smooth as it was all hand held, also it will look grainy in places because areas of the museum are quite dark. Plus it was a freezing cold day in February so the outside bits of video are quite glum looking! It's much nicer down there on a Summer's day.

The Royal Armouries in Leeds is one of the most important museums of its type in the world. See more info here
If your into your history / weaponry, then you've got to visit this place. It's one of the largest collections of historic arms and armour, including the National Collection of Arms and Armour, National Artillery Collection, and National Firearms Collection.
I'm not a massive fan of war, but I do like Game of Thrones, and having looked through the pictures, it looks like a very interesting place to visit.
It's Free entry, so it's definitely worth a look.
They also have displays on during school holidays (i.e jousting, weapon demonstrations), so check their website before you go to see what's on.
Allow 2 - 4 hours (more if you're a proper buff, one reviewer said they'd been there all day and only did 1 floor!)
There's even a FREE water taxi to the museum from the south entrance of Leeds train station.
If you want to eat, there's a cafe's inside and there's also an indoor picnic area.

The Royal Armouries Leeds! Museum Vlog!
I took a drive up to Leeds to take a look at the Royal Armouries! It's a super good museum to visit, definitely one of my favourites I've made it to this year!
Also I'm using my new camera so bear with me whilst I get used to it's 1000 buttons, hopefully the footage will be higher quality, but I'm still getting used to being a protographer.
