Royal Apartments at the Stockholm Royal Palace (Stockholm, Sweden)
I visited the Royal Apartments - the main feature of the Stockholm Royal Palace. The apartments show many of the classic palace rooms, information about the Swedish Royal Family, pictures of Kings and Queens, and other things you'd expect from a palace. The Royal Palace is in Old Town (Gamla Stan) Stockholm, Sweden. Shot in July 2018.

Visiting the Royal Castle in Stockholm - Sweden 4K Travel Channel
The Stockholm Palace is in the center of Stockholm, not far from the Old Town Gamla Stan on the island of Stadsholmen. The Palace, also called the Royal Palace, was built on the foundation walls of the Tre Kronor Palace, which burnt down in 1697. It is one of the largest castles in Europe and has 605 rooms, one room more than the Buckingham Palace. But who has already counted them?
The Stockholm Palace now houses the offices of the King and other members of the Royal House. As the official residence, it is also used for representation purposes.
The former living rooms are mainly publicly accessible as a museum. The castle also houses the Tre Kronor Museum, the Royal Armory and Gustav III's Museum of Antiquities. There is also the treasury, but unfortunately filming is strictly forbidden (why actually?).
The Royal Apartments (castle museum)
After we have inspected the central inner courtyard, we enter the main building. Via a staircase, we reach the throne and coronation hall. A highlight of our tour is the gallery of Karl XI. The hall of mirrors is used for banquets of up to 170 guests. The inspiration for this hall was by its namesake, the hall of mirrors in the Versailles Palace.
One floor down is a series of rooms, used for representation purposes. There is also a collection of clocks with models from all epochs. Interesting is a model of the clock tower of Mecca, a gift to the king on a visit to Saudi Arabia 2011.
The Tre Kronor Museum
This museum is dedicated to the original Tre Kronor Palace. The name Tre Kronor goes back to the realm symbol, the three crowns. They once crowned the castle, which was destroyed by a heavy fire in 1697. The entrance of the Tre Kronor Museum is in the basement of the palace.
You see various models of the old castle and a part of the original foundation wall here. Next to the Tre Kronor Museum is the Treasury
Gustav III's Museum of Antiquities

Antikmuseum Gustav III.

With more than 600 rooms, it is one of the world’s largest inhabited palace. In this palace, visitors can tour a lot of its rooms and museums, all included in the Stockholm Pass! During my visit, I only manage to check out Gustav III’s Antikmuseum and the Royal Apartment due to time-restrain. I highly recommend visiting the Royal Armory.

Changing of the Guard at the Royal Palace, Stockholm
The Royal Guard marches from the Military Museum to the Royal Palace in Stockholm every day of the year. There a changing of the guard ceremony takes place in the outer courtyard. During the summer months the guards are accompanied by a Military Band from the Swedish Armed Forces Music Centre and they perform a small concert to entertain the many spectators. The whole ceremony lasts about 40 minutes.
ROYAL PALACE, STOCKHOLM - travel shorts
The Royal Palace of Stockholm is His Majesty The King's official residence and is also the setting for most of the monarchy's official receptions. The palace is a daily place of work for The King and Queen as well as for the various departments that make up the Royal Court.
This combination of royal residence, workplace and culture-historical monument open year round to visitors makes the Royal Palace of Stockholm unique amongst Europe's royal residences.
The palace is built in baroque style by the architect Nicodemus Tessin and is formed as a Roman palace. The palace has more than 600 rooms divided between seven floors with a state apartment facing the city and smaller living rooms facing the inner courtyard.

Stockholm, Sweden - Stockholm Royal Palace - Changing of the Guard (2018)
Stockholm Palace or the Royal Palace (Swedish: Stockholms slott or Kungliga slottet) is the official residence and major royal palace of the Swedish monarch (the actual residence of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia is at Drottningholm Palace). Stockholm Palace is located on Stadsholmen, in Gamla stan in the capital, Stockholm. It neighbours the Riksdag building. The offices of the King, the other members of the Swedish Royal Family, and the offices of the Royal Court of Sweden are located here. The palace is used for representative purposes by the King whilst performing his duties as the head of state.
This royal residence has been in the same location by Norrström in the northern part of Gamla stan in Stockholm since the middle of the 13th century when the Tre Kronor Castle was built. In modern times the name relates to the building called Kungliga Slottet. The palace was designed by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger and erected on the same place as the medieval Tre Kronor Castle which was destroyed in a fire on 7 May 1697. Due to the costly Great Northern War which started in 1700, construction of the palace was halted in 1709, and not recommenced until 1727—six years after the end of the war. When Tessin the Younger died in 1728, the palace was completed by Carl Hårleman who also designed a large part of its Rococo interior. The palace was not ready to use until 1754, when King Adolf Frederick and Queen Louisa Ulrika moved in, but some interior work proceeded until the 1770s. No major conversions have been done in the palace since its completion, only some adjustments, new interiors, modernization and redecorating for different regents and their families, coloration of the facades and addition of the palace museums. The palace is surrounded by the Lejonbacken and the Norrbro to the north, the Logården (known as the Shot Yard in English) and Skeppsbron in the east, the Slottsbacken and the Storkyrkan in the south, and the outer courtyard and Högvaktsterrassen in the northwest.
As of 2009 the interior of the palace consists of 1,430 rooms of which 660 have windows. The palace contains apartments for the Royal families, representation and festivities such as the State Apartments, the Guest Apartments and the Bernadotte Apartments. More features are the Hall of State, the Royal Chapel, the Treasury with the Regalia of Sweden, Livrustkammaren and the Tre Kronor Museum located in the remaining cellar vaults from the former castle. The National Library of Sweden was housed in the northeast wing, the Biblioteksflygeln (the Library Wing), until 1878. As of 2014 it houses the Bernadotte Library. The Slottsarkivet is housed in the Chancery Wing. In the palace are the offices of the Royal Court of Sweden, a place of work for approximately 200 employees. The Royal Guards have guarded the palace and the Royal Family since 1523. A comprehensive renovation of the facade began in 2011, to repair weather damaged parts made from sandstone. The repairs are estimated to cost approximately 500 million crowns (about US$77 million) over a period of 22 years.
The Royal Palace is owned by the Swedish State through the National Property Board of Sweden which is responsible for running and maintaining the palace, while the Ståthållarämbetet (the Office of the Governor of the Royal Palaces) manages the royal right of disposition of the palace.
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and the most populous city in the Nordic countries;952,058 people live in the municipality, approximately 1.5 million in the urban area, and 2.3 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Just outside the city and along the coast is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the capital of Stockholm County.
