Founded in 1523 Royal Palace of Aranjuez hasn't been completed until early 1700's. It has been used by royal family as ine of their primary residences. Palace still stands until today. Today however it is a museum. We were not allowed to film inside of the Royal Palace of Aranjuez. However outside we got to capture it in all its architectural beauty. Museum itself if you happened to be nearby, you should definitely visit and see what's inside with your own eyes.

Palacio Real de Aranjuez or the Royal Palace of Aranjuez is located a short, less than an hour. train ride from Madrid and makes for a nice day trip. Be aware that it is closed on Mondays however the gardens are open.

ARANJUEZ The Royal Palace and Gardens
The Royal Palace and Gardens of ARANJUEZ is situated between the rivers Tagus and Jarama, it was already used as a royal residence in the time of Ferdinand and Isabel the Catholic. Philip II began the present palace with the same architects who worked on El Escorial, Juan Bautista de Toledo and Juan de Herrera. It was completed in the reign of Ferdinand VI, and two further wings were added in the time of Charles III.
The present decoration of the palace dates particulary from the 18th century. Outstanding features are the Porcelain Room and the Hall of Mirrors. A Museum on Palace Life is situated on the lower floor. It contains fascinating items illustrating daily life in the royal residences.
A visit to the Palace of Aranjuez should include a stroll around the garden known as Jardín de la Isla (Island Garden), being surrounded by the Tagus and by an artificial channel called La Ría that separates it from the Palace. It contains mainly Italian ornamental fountains from the 16th and 17th centuries. This is considered the most important and characteristic Spanish garden dating from the time of the Habsburgs.
During the 18th century, Kings of Spain embellished the Royal Site of Aranjuez with renovations and new works. Among the most important of these is the extensive Prince's Garden, with its architectural features such as the entrance gates into the garden, the Apollo Fountain, and the pond with its classical temple and Chinese gazebo designed by Juan de Villanueva, who also built the mansion known as the Casa del Labrador This residence contains one of the most important collections of Neoclassical decorative arts in Europe.

Aranjuez, also called the Royal Estate of Aranjuez, is a city and municipality, capital of the Las Vegas district, in the southern part of the Community of Madrid, Spain. Aranjuez is located at the confluence of the Tagus and Jarama rivers, 42 kilometres (26 mi) south of Madrid, and 44 kilometres (27 mi) from Toledo.
Aranjuez is the 17th-largest city in the Community of Madrid and the autonomous community's largest and most populous urban center outside Greater Madrid Area. Aranjuez has been one of the Royal Estates of the Crown of Spain since the times of Philip II in 1560. Until 1752, only the royalty and nobility were allowed to dwell in the town. The Cultural Landscape of Aranjuez was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001.
Aranjuez was declared Conjunto Histórico-Artístico (Historic Artistic Junction) in 1983. In 2001 UNESCO listed the Aranjuez Cultural landscape as a World Heritage Site. Mariblanca was the first extension beyond the Royal Palace, along the south bank of the river Tagus (Local spelling Tajo). The royal Church of San Antonio which was built by Philip IV of Spain for both public and ceremonial royal use, stands at the southern end of Plaza San Antonio popularly known as Mariblanca, (possibly because it is a 'sea' of white sand or mar de arena blanca or else an allusion to the female statue of the fountain at the far end, which is the Venus of sculptor Juan Reyna in 1762). This is now an occasional festival ground which is lined on the west by the quarters of the officers (Casa de Oficios) and knights (Casa de Caballeros now Juzgados or law courts facility) and on the west by the Casa de las Infantas (built by Charles II of Spain for his sons Gabriel and Antonio, which now houses the tourist office).
A bullring, one of the earliest in Spain, the original was built in 1760 by order of King Charles IV, the refurbished structure was opened by his wife, Maria Luisa of Parma, on 14 May 1797. It had a capacity of 9000 spectators at a time when the population, according to the then prime minister, was only 4226. There are twelve public entrances which lead to three circular galleries, each with 10 stone seating benches. Royalty and their guests enjoyed a private entrance with stairs leading directly to the royal box.

In 2001 this city was designated as a World Heritage Cultural landscape by UNESCO, and since then, tourism has kept on increasing until hit by the 2008 recession. Prior to 2008 much money was spent in order to beautify Aranjuez and many pubs and restaurants were opened (from 2001 to 2004 their number increased 22%).
