Bangkok (Thailand) Vacation Travel Video Guide
✱ 2.772 Hotels in Bangkok - Lowest Price Guarantee ►
Travel video about destination Bangkok in Thailand.
Bangkok is synonymous with lively chaos but Thailand's great metropolis is also a compelling experience for the senses and a fascinating city full of contrast.
We begin our sightseeing tour early in the morning about 100 kilometres southwest of the city centre at the floating market of Damnoen Saduak. Here, men and women travel on the canals by sampan amid a fertile landscape. Fruit, vegetables, flowers and all manner of goods are available and many of the boats have a kitchen in which fresh food is prepared to satisfy hearty appetites.
Back in the city we visit some of its most important sights, such as the Wat Phra Kaeo, The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the most important place of worship for the Thai people. Bangkok's most important landmark is also its most beautiful temple complex, a wonderful work of art comprising numerous splendid buildings.
Today, the Royal Grand Palace is used for national ceremonies and coronations. During the city's early years, it was originally built as a residence for King Rama. The magnificent residence of the former god king shines out in all the typical splendor and elegance of the Far East, a Siamese heaven on Earth!
In the 19th century, Bangkok contained several canals known as 'Klongs' and most of them have subsequently been replaced with streets but a few have survived. Traveling on the canals is a wonderful way to take in the sights and for centuries, life on the city's waterways has changed very little.
Bangkok is a typical Asian city with much exotic hustle, bustle and excitement. It is truly a city that never sleeps!

Siam (Thailand) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about Siam in Thailand.
The magnificent history of Siam began in1253 when several small kingdoms in the north of the country united and thus laid the foundation for the first true kingdom of the Thai people. Bangkok, the present metropolis and capital of Thailand, first attained importance at the end of the 18th century under the newly developed Chakri Dynasty when it became their seat of government. The epoch of the Chakri kings still exists today and although the great palace district no longer serves as the king’s residence it is still one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bangkok. Wat Suthat is located in the eastern district of old Angkok and is one of the city’s oldest temples. Construction of the temple began shortly after the coronation of the first Chakri monarch, King Rama The First. Prior to its completion during the reign of King Rama The Third, three other kings were responsible for the creation of the Buddhist sanctuary that covers an area of more than forty thousand square metres. For more than four centuries Ayutthaya was one of the most prosperous royal cities in Indo China prior to the time when the internal power struggles of various rival members of the country’s royal family led to the city’s decline. Wat Mahathat, one of the oldest sanctuaries of the ancient capital, has one of the tallest and most impressive towers in Ayutthaya. King Boromaja The Second had the temple built in honour of his two brothers who had killed each other in a bitter and bloody struggle for the royal throne. Buddhism has always played a vital role in Thailand’s history. It continues to be highly influential to the present day. The remains of the ‘Temple Of The Seven Rows Of Chedis’, the Wat Chedi Ched Thaeo, is the greatest Buddhist monastery in Si Satchanalai. Within its thirty-two stupas are the cremated remains of various members of the kings who ruled over the northern region of Siam. Even now the legendary kingdom of Siam, along with its fascinating cultural heritage, age old traditions and outstanding historic monuments, has a substantial influence in the modern Thailand of today.

Visit to The Royal Barges National Museum Bangkok, Thailand #royalbarges #bangkok #museum
Hello My Lovelies,
I took this tour a year ago and had a catistophic failure with my memory card. Lost all the video.
Now I am back to document some of these historical barges.
100 baht for admission and 100 baht for a photo pass. Well worth it.
It is very hot and there are a few fans around the structure that help to relieve the humidity. Plan to spend one hour to be fully immersed in the artwork.
These floating works of art are a must see and this video does not do justice to the beauty and detail of the Kings barges.
There is a huge support staff involved to move these beauties in the river and move them on real man power.
They are under great care and during this visit, they were being loved by artisians restroring and brightening up these beasts.
There is a plethora of information about this must see attraction. Just Google, Royal Kings Barges Bangkok. Below is a Wiki link.
Make sure you bring some walking shoes if you plan to take the river. Don't forget your water. There is a cute shop at the location for beverages.
I hope you like my video.

Bangkok Vacation Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations
Houses standing on piles in the water of the canals, the floating market and temples with their glistening mosaics are all living memories from the past, but the skyscrapers standing on the bank of Cho Praya and the luxury cars speeding on the highway are all forerunners of the new century. Old and new, rich and poor, backwards and ultra modern; Bangkok is a place of controversies. In the buzzing of the 8 million metropolis the Royal Palace and the buddhist monasteries are the islands of peace and silence. One can see a 5 and a half ton Buddha statue, temples covered with marble, mirrors and gold, and relics each more beautiful than the previous one. We can take a trip from Bangkok to the ruins of the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, the famous bridge of the River Kwai, but the beaches of Pattaya are not far either.

Bang Pa In Royal Palace | Ayutthaya | Amazing Thailand Part 6 | Bangkok
Bang Pa-In Royal Palace in Ayutthaya:
The Royal Palace at Bang Pa-In has a history dating back to the 17 th century. According to a chronicle of Ayutthaya, King Prasat Thong (1629-1656) had a palace constructed on Bang Pa-In Island in the Chao Phraya River.
This Royal Palace is situated 60 km north of Bangkok and within easy reach of Ayutthaya is the illustrious Bang Pa-In Royal Palace. The palace is very European in design. The buildings are laid out along an artificial ornamental pond. In what was formerly the public area of the palace, the lake is a long rectangular pool, lines with formal plantings and the odd folly. The compound is divided into two sections, the Outer and the Inner palace. The Outer consists of buildings for public and ceremonial uses. The Inner Palace was reserved for the King and his immediate family.
Today the palace is used as a summer dwelling by the Siamese royalty and their consorts occasionally. Also called 'Bang Pa In Summer Palace' the park comprises several iconic buildings dotted around a large park and renting an electric cart is a good way to get around, especially on hot days. Coming all the way from Bangkok just for the palace might not be worth the trip but it is a great stop on the way to Ayutthaya.
Bangkok Travel Tips: 13 Things to Know Before You Go
Things YOU need to know before YOU go to Bangkok in Thailand.
Bangkok is the bustling capital of Thailand with a population of more than 11 million. About 13% of Thailand's population lives in Bangkok. Bangkok was the world’s top tourist destination with 20 Million Tourists in 2017. Bangkok is also known as the Big Mango.
2 - Weather
Hot and Humid! Really hot and humid! Like all the time!
Daytime highs all year are in excess of 30C/86F
Bangkok holds claim to being the hottest city in the world
Not because the highs are the highest, but because it doesn’t cool down at night
Lows range from 21C to 26C ( 70F-79F )
April to October is the wet & hot season
The “cool” and dry season is November to February, like a degree or 2 less on the highs and a few degrees cooler on the lows
3. Getting In
Chances are you’ll be flying in to Bangkok, yes there are buses, and yes there’s a train, and you can take it from Singapore, but most people fly.
2 Airports
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang Airport (DMK).
Most international flights go in to BKK
By Rail:
The Airport Rail Link connects Suvarnabhumi Airport with the BTS Skytrain system, which is Bangkok’s primary public transportation system. The City Line connects with the BTS Skytrain at Phayathai Station and costs 45 baht from Suvarnabhumi.
By Taxi:
Metered taxis are available from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Bangkok.
4. Getting Around
MRT Subway
Fare varies according to age
People don’t stand in lines. Instead of queuing up, Thais form a crowd. Stand your ground, and get used to a lack of personal space in public places.
Taxis
Notorious for ripping off tourists. Make sure they turn on the meter. It should start at 35 THB. Or download the GrabTaxi app -- like Uber, but cheaper.
Tuk Tuk
A small vehicle with no windows or doors but with a roof and a seat.
Price is always negotiated
Make sure to hold on the handles, tuk tuk drivers can be crazy drivers
Motorbike Taxis
Best to get through traffic
And come with a free massive heart attack!
5. Money
Thai Baht
1 Thai Baht was about $.03 US
Or 33 Baht to 1 USD
In Thailand, there are 1 baht, 2 baht, 5 baht, and 10 baht coins and 20 baht, 50 baht, 100 baht, and 1,000 baht notes. You may also occasionally see a 10 baht note, although those are no longer printed.
Get it from an ATM, but select “Continue Without Conversion”
6. What to wear
Linen, Rayon, or wicking/quickdry fabrics
DON’T WEAR JEANS -- you’ll combust! Also don’t wear anything lined with Polyester -- it’s as good as wearing a ziplock bag.
Temples and Palaces require you to cover your shoulders and knees.
pay attention to see if others have taken off their shoes. If so, follow suit.
7. Language
Big cities like Chiang Mai and Bangkok have a lot of locals who speak English
Sawadiikaa for females, and Sawadiikrap for males - This is the Thai greeting for hello and goodbye, and is accompanied by the wai gesture.
placing hands palms together at your chest and bowing your head
Also note that adding kaa or krap to any sentence in Thai makes the sentence more polite.
Kapkhunkaa for females, and Kapkhunkrap for males - This means thank you, and it is also often accompanied by the wai gesture.
Chuai buht meter dai mai kaa/krap? - Could you turn on the meter?
Gepdthang noi - Check please.
Mai ao - This verbatim means I'm not getting that, but can generally be used to deny an interest in purchasing anything.
Krungthep - This is the word for Bangkok in Thai. Many people mistakenly assume Bangkok is a Thai word. It's not, and knowing the real word can come in handy.
8. Shopping
9. Food
10. Bug Spray
11. Respect the King and the Royal Family
12. Don’t touch anyone on the head.

Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand | DW Documentary
Thailand’s capital city, Bangkok, is unique. This film reveals the best spots: well-known locations, and places off the beaten track.
Our report provides a detailed guide to Asia’s most exciting city. For transportation, visitors and local residents alike can choose from motorized rickshaws, taxis, subways, or the sky train. There are also express boats that ply the Chao Phraya River -- plus long-tail boats, and vessels that make their way through the city's khlongs, or canals. This journey of discovery takes us to the places where Bangkok residents go to rest and relax -- like the island of Ko Samet in the Gulf of Thailand. This is the capital's version of Wannsee Lake in Berlin. You can book a river cruise, or visit one of the trendy open-air bars perched atop high-rise buildings. A lot of younger Bangkok residents have taken up a bold challenge in this car-friendly city: they've switched to bicycles. Many locals enjoy making a bike visit to the village-like central district, near a big bend in the river -- even when the temperature rises above 30-degrees centigrade. On the islands off the coast, there's plenty of sunshine, beautiful beaches, and clear, warm water -- a mix that attracts crowds of Bangkok residents on weekends.
