Route 66 Pt. 1 - Missouri Life TV (Episode 3 - Season 5)
Welcome to a special episode of Missouri Life TV featuring the mother road, Route 66! In part 1 of this 2-part episode, we’ll revel in the beauty of the Mighty Mississippi river during a stroll across the Chain of Rocks Bridge. Taste a St. Louis staple at Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. Witness art that is larger than life in Cuba, Missouri - or “Mural City”, as it’s sometimes called. Wander through Bob’s Gasoline Alley, adorned with relics from the glory days of the Old Road. Snack on a variety of soda flavors and popcorn at Fanning Outpost. Stop by the quaint Wagon Wheel Motel and it’s beautiful neon sign. And see more of the rich beauty along America’s Main Street as we travel South through Pulaski County across the Devil's Elbow Bridge, making a stop at the Stagecoach Stop museum to reminisce on the many decades of history it honors.

ARIZONA JAIL ON THE HISTORIC ROUTE 66 ALSO KNOWN AS WILL ROGERS HIGHWAY.
U.S. Route 66 (also known as the Will Rogers Highway after the humorist, and colloquially known as the Main Street of America or the Mother Road) was a highway in the U.S. Highway System. One of the original U.S. highways, Route 66 was established on November 11, 1926. However, road signs did not go up until the following year. The famous highway originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California, before ending at Los Angeles, covering a total of 2,448 miles (3,940 km).It was recognized in popular culture by both a hit song (written by Bobby Troup, originally recorded by the Nat King Cole Trio in 1946, and later performed by such artists as Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones, The Manhattan Transfer and Depeche Mode) and the Route 66 television show in the 1960s.
Route 66 underwent many improvements and realignments over its lifetime, changing its path and overall length. Many of the realignments gave travelers faster or safer routes, or detoured around city congestion. One realignment moved the western endpoint farther west from downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica.
Route 66 was a major path of the migrants who went west, especially during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, and supported the economies of the communities through which the road passed. People doing business along the route became prosperous due to the growing popularity of the highway, and those same people later fought to keep the highway alive even with the growing threat of being bypassed by the new Interstate Highway System.
U.S. 66 was officially removed from the United States Highway System on June 27, 1985 after it was decided the route was no longer relevant and had been replaced by the Interstate Highway System. Portions of the road that passed through Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico, and Arizona have been designated a National Scenic Byway of the name Historic Route 66. It has begun to return to maps in this form. Some portions of the road in southern California have been redesignated State Route 66, and others bear Historic Route 66 signs and relevant historic information.

Itinerario RUTA 66 Día 2- De Springfield Illinois a Springfield Missouri
Por la mañana visitamos Springfield de Illinois porque el día de antes no nos dio tiempo.
Staunton- Henry's rabbit ranch
Country classic cars: parada recomendada si os gustan los coches
Cambio de estado: Missouri
St. Louis- Arco Gateway

SUMMARY
=======
The George Washington Masonic National Memorial is a Masonic building and memorial located in Alexandria, Virginia, outside Washington, D.C. It is dedicated to the memory of George Washington, the first President of the United States and a Mason. The tower is fashioned after the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria in Egypt. The 333-foot (101 m) tall memorial sits atop Shooter's Hill (also known as Shuter's Hill) at 101 Callahan Drive. Construction began in 1922, the building was dedicated in 1932, and the interior finally completed in 1970. In July 2015, it was designated a National Historic Landmark for its architecture, and as one of the largest-scale private memorials to honor Washington. The memorial is served by the King Street–Old Town Metro station on the Blue and Yellow Lines of the Washington Metro. The station is located about four blocks from the memorial.
