Notre-Dame Basilica (French: Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal) is a basilica in the historic district of Old Montreal, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Built in the Gothic Revival style, the church is highly decorated. The vaults are coloured deep blue and decorated with golden stars, and the rest of the sanctuary is decorated in blues, azures, reds, purples, silver, and gold. It is filled with hundreds of intricate wooden carvings and several religious statues. Unusual for a church, the stained glass windows along the walls of the sanctuary do not depict biblical scenes, but rather scenes from the religious history of Montreal. It also has a Casavant Frères pipe organ, dated 1891.

Habitat 67, or simply Habitat, is a model community and housing complex in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, designed by Israeli/Canadian architect Moshe Safdie. It was originally conceived as his master's thesis in architecture at McGill University and then built as a pavilion for Expo 67, the World's Fair held from April to October 1967. It is located at 2600 Avenue Pierre-Dupuy on the Marc-Drouin Quay next to the Saint Lawrence River. Habitat 67 is widely considered an architectural landmark and one of the most recognizable and spectacular buildings in both Montreal and Canada.[1][2]

Montréal: Feu 4 alarmes Notre-Dame / Fire raging in vacant warehouse 7-15-2019

At 9h last night fire broke out in a two story large surface abandoned industrial warehouse at 4650 Notre-Dame Street East in Montreal, Canada. Upon arrival SIM firemen declared seeing fire raging on the entire second floor of the vacant building and engaged a 2nd alarm immediately. The blaze was eventually elevated to a 4th alarm while fire fighters conducted exclusively a defensive attack. The fire grew intense and pierced through the roof so crews used numerous aerial ladders to efficiently dose the flames. No injury were reported, police blocked a large perimeter making Notre-Dame Street closed for the duration of the intervention.
À 21h hier soir un incendie s'est déclaré dans une bâtisse abandonnée aux intersections Notre-Dame et rue Sicard dans l'est de l'ile. Les pompiers ont sonné une 4e alarme et procédé à une attaque défensive vu l'intensité du brasier. Une deuxième alarme a été sonnée immédiatement à la suite de quoi l'incident a été augmenté à une 4e alarme. L'intensité du feu était telle que les flammes ont rapidement percé le toit mais ont été maîtrisées par plusieurs échelles aériennes. Aucune blessûre majeure n'a été rapportée et la police a bloqué un large périmètre qui a causé la fermeture complète de la rue Notre-Dame.

Old Montreal (French: Vieux-Montréal) is the oldest area in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with a few remains dating back to New France.
Located in the borough of Ville-Marie, the area is bordered on the west by McGill St., on the north by Ruelle des Fortifications, on the east by rue Saint-André and on the south by the Saint Lawrence River.0
Following recent amendments, the district has been expanded slightly to include the rue des Soeurs Grises in the west, Saint Antoine St. in the north and Saint Hubert Street in the east. It also includes the Old Port of Montreal.
