Plot of the story
In Ming Dynasty, Minister HAI Rui escorted a relief grain fleet and passed CAO HE river. The Silver Fish Spirit in the river planned to plunder the grain to nourish her cave mansion. HAI Rui heard the deity temple of Heaven’s Emperor on Mont JIN DING always responded man’s plea. So he went to pilgrimage Mont JIN DING. Heaven’s Emperor sent ZHOU Cang to conquer Silver Fish Spirit, but ZHOU Cang cannot catch her. The Deity of ER-LANG-SHEN came to help ZHOU Cang and at last they caught the Silver Fish Spirit.
The Beijing opera or Peking Opera can be classified into two kinds: pure literacy and martial. This is a martial one. As you know there are four main disciplines in Beijing Opera: SHENG(man), DAN(woman), JING(man painting pattern on face) and CHOU(male clown and grass root common man). The role of this opera is martial DAN.
This kind of martial opera comes from old time. The stories are always simple: a spirit does something bad. Then the deity comes and cannot conquer her. At last the deity reinforcements arrive and catch the spirit. When Lord Macartney came to China to visit Emperor QIAN LONG, the Emperor wanted to teach him the culture of China. So an opera called Peace and Prosperous to All Four Seas was arranged for Lord Macartney. That story was similar to this, but English ambassador replaced HAI Rui, lots of spirits and Deities replaced the three.
After 1949, especially 1958, this kind of martial opera is banned in mainland China. In 1980, they believe this kind of culture has nothing to do with politics and revive it. The College of China Traditional Opera learned Pilgrimaging Mont JIN DING back from TAI WAN. So here is the wonderful performance.

The Princess Weiyoung is based on the novel The Bastard Daughter is Poisonous by Qin Jian. The adaptation has been produced by Wang Ying and directed by Li Hui Zhu, with screenwriting by Cheng Ting Yu. The Princess Weiyoung will debut on Dragon TV and Beijing TV on November 11, 2016, and is expected to run for 54 episodes.

Dragon Boat Race, June 20, 2015 in China, Zhejiang Province, city Wenzhou
This is a special Chinese culture Festival, we will celebrate Duanwu festival, 端午节, people also call it Dragon Boat Festival. Falling on the 5th day of the 5th month according to Chinese lunar calendar, the Dragon Boat Festival is one of great significance.
Every year, in my hometown, Zhejiang province, City Wenzhou, dragon boat festival always together with dragon boat competition. Each street, block, school or company can join in. This tradition starts the end of the spring and autumn period (around 470BC.？）in my hometown, the last king of Country Yue, whose name is Goujian, start this events to respect the god dragon and hope he can always protect he and his country.
People in this festival do not say happy dragon boat festival. They say good health!
This is a only festival people say Good Health! to each other and hope we all can healthy and far away from all kinds of the bad things.
Most dragon in China are water god, they control the waters, streams, lacks, rivers and oceans. And they also can effect the weather, control fog, rain or snow... People believe that the God dragon will keep the bad things far away from them and bring the health and harvest in autumn. In our old traditions, during this festival, people will drop the special food Zongzi in to the water, invite the water lives to eat them. They believe that those aquatic organisms are the children of God dragon.

The Dragon Boat Festival has been held annually for more than 2,000 years and is notable for its educational influence. The festival commemorates the patriotic poet Qu Yuan (340-278 BC), and also acts as a chance for Chinese people to build their bodies and dispel diseases. Many legends circulate around the festival but the most popular is the legend of Qu Yuan.
Many traditional customs and activities are held on the specified day by people in China and even by some people in neighbouring countries. Among these customs are dragon boat racing, eating zongzi, wearing a perfume pouch, tying five-colour silk thread and hanging mugwort leaves and calamus.

Corruption Scandal of Hong Kong Chief Executive

Hong Kong Chief Executive, Donald Tsang, is facing hints of
criminal investigation and possible impeachment.
Tsang was implicated in the corruption scandal.
Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption
(ICAC) has initiated an investigation into Donald Tsang.
For the first time in the last 28 years, the territory's top leader
was placed under ICAC investigation.
The local public said Tsang's political sensitivity is not acute,
who did not steer clear of suspicion on receiving hospitality.
Hong Kong's leader is elected by limited voters, observers
comment,
and the Chinese Communist Party(CCP)'s corrupt culture
gives rise to such scandals.
Hong Kong media outlets exposed impropriety of Donald Tsang,
the territory's Chief Executive.
Reports said Tsang enjoyed luxurious treatment, including trips
on yachts and private jets, as well as accepting luxury suites.
Tsang was suspected of accepting favors from the rich.
Earlier on, several political parties were reportedly to file
complaints against Donald Tsang to the ICAC.
Several informants recently received notifications that
an inquiry into Donald Tsang was under way.
On 28th Feb, Paul Tse, a Hong Kong legislative council member,
said the legislative council decided to impeach Donald Tsang.
The decision was based on common law, according to Tse.
Tsai Yung-Mei, executive editor of Hong Kong's Open magazine
believes in the positive role that the legislative council plays.
Hong Kong's judiciary is independent, Tsai says, the news
media is still relatively free though infiltrated by the CCP.
Tsai Yung-Mei: Was it impacted by the reunification in 1997?
It was, by the government.
But basically its judiciary is independent.
Secondly, Hong Kong still has freedom of the press.
After the1997 reunification with China, this freedom has
been eroded heavily and fallen.
Major Hong Kong media outlets have seen
increasing penetration from mainland China.
But the freedom of the press still essentially remains.
So, a lot of inside stories can be unearthed once they were
published in newspapers or exposed by news media.
The luxury penthouse leased by Donald Tsang was
located in Donghai Garden in Shenzhen.
Occupying about 10,000 square feet, the suite's market value
is RMB 50 million, the rent is estimated to be RMB 150,000 per month.
The property owner is Wong Cho-bau,
a real estate developer in Shenzhen.
Wong is the member of the CCP Political Consultative Conference,
a major shareholder of Digital Broadcasting Corp. in Hong Kong.
According to the current data, a person with insider knowledge
of ICAC's operations pinpointed the key points to the case---
Is the Shenzhen penthouse leased by Donald Tsang related
to the broadcast licenses that were issued by the government?
If Tsang accepted favors from the same businessman,
the civil servant may face prosecution by the ICAC.
The charge shall be Misconduct in public office,
under the provision of common law.
Corruption appears in Hong Kong. It is the outcome of
erosion by the CCP's corrupt culture, says Tsai Yung-Mei.
Tsai Yung-Mei: The UK left Hong Kong an excellent heritage,
of which we Hong Kong people also felt proud.
But now, we've seen it eroded, by the CCP officialdom.
Since his (Chief Executive) power doesn't come from
Hong Kong, but from Beijing.
He can win the seat as long as Beijing nods.
So there's no way for the checks and balances on power,
it naturally gives rise to corruption.
Tsang's intricate relationship with the business elite triggered
more public outcry.
The figure of an anti Mr Donald Tsang facebook group
continues to ascend.
Tsang was condemned as Hong Kong's top corrupt official.
Qin Yongmin (Democracy activist, China),
Hong Kong has a high degree of civil liberties.
So it's not hard for people to perceive and disclose scandals
of the incumbent chief executive.
The mainland Chinese people are in much hope of having
rights to investigate, watchdog and depose the head of state.
Tsai Yung-Mei adds that China is distinct from Hong Kong.
In China, the judiciary is completely non-independent,
without freedom of speech, nor freedom of the press.
The CCP is a totalitarian politics, says Tsai Yung-Mei,
with all the power concentrated in the hands of the CCP.

Petitioners Rally Beijing at 6th Plenary Session

The CCP's Political Bureau made a preliminary
announcement last month:
The 6th Plenary Session of the Seventeen Central
Committee of the CCP will held from Oct 15 to 18 in Beijing.
Petitioners from all over the country flock to Beijing
to redress their grievances.
Although attackers arrested petitioners everywhere,
some petitioners broke the blockades to go to Beijing.
More and more petitioners have rallied in front of
Beijing State Bureau of Letters and Calls recently.
Many petitioners are ready to cry for justice when
The 6th Plenary Session of the Seventeen Central Committee opens.
Recently, more and more petitioners around China
have hurried on their way to Beijing.
More than 10,000 petitioners line up to register in front of
Beijing State Bureau of Letters and Calls.
Ma Bo, a petitioner from Heilongjiang Province,
said to NTD that Currently, many petitioners want to come to Beijing to appeal;
but, some were attacked on the way,
and some were captured by the local government when they arrived in Beijing.
Ma Bo said, Local governments mobilized
a large number of forces to capture the petitioners in their residences in Beijing.
Yesterday, Huang Guangyu, a petitioner from Hunan,
was taken away by them.
Huang Guangyu was captured on Sept. 26
and was under house arrest.
In order to avoid being cut-off and arrested,
many petitioners live and move together.
Yang Xiuting, a petitioner from Baotou, Inner Mongolia,
said, Now we are at the place of appeal. The petitioners here are very united.
Because we have many petitioners here,
they (the authorities) don't dare to come to our residences to arrest people.
They haven't done that. But, if a petitioner walks on street alone,
the authorities will pull him into a car. That happens.
Yang Xiuting added that she came to Beijing to appeal
an earlier housing demolition,
but was attacked by Baotou authorities and was held
in Baotou nursing home under monitoring of six policemen for 28 days.
Her house was demolished and her property was taken away.
Petitioning is her only way.
Yang Xiuting said aside from being attacked and
intercepted, many petitioners don't dare to go to Beijing to appeal.

Some petitioners spend months and years appealing
some of them petition for over 30 years.
Many people have been imprisoned due to petitioning,
and some even lost their lives. There are too many problems.
Lawyer Li Heping said, in China, justice is not used as
the solution to solve the problem, because authority is (used for that).
He said, under the CCP system,

Plot of the story
In Ming Dynasty, Minister HAI Rui escorted a relief grain fleet and passed CAO HE river. The Silver Fish Spirit in the river planned to plunder the grain to nourish her cave mansion. HAI Rui heard the deity temple of Heaven’s Emperor on Mont JIN DING always responded man’s plea. So he went to pilgrimage Mont JIN DING. Heaven’s Emperor sent ZHOU Cang to conquer Silver Fish Spirit, but ZHOU Cang cannot catch her. The Deity of ER-LANG-SHEN came to help ZHOU Cang and at last they caught the Silver Fish Spirit.
The Beijing opera or Peking Opera can be classified into two kinds: pure literacy and martial. This is a martial one. As you know there are four main disciplines in Beijing Opera: SHENG(man), DAN(woman), JING(man painting pattern on face) and CHOU(male clown and grass root common man). The role of this opera is martial DAN.
This kind of martial opera comes from old time. The stories are always simple: a spirit does something bad. Then the deity comes and cannot conquer her. At last the deity reinforcements arrive and catch the spirit. When Lord Macartney came to China to visit Emperor QIAN LONG, the Emperor wanted to teach him the culture of China. So an opera called Peace and Prosperous to All Four Seas was arranged for Lord Macartney. That story was similar to this, but English ambassador replaced HAI Rui, lots of spirits and Deities replaced the three.
After 1949, especially 1958, this kind of martial opera is banned in mainland China. In 1980, they believe this kind of culture has nothing to do with politics and revive it. The College of China Traditional Opera learned Pilgrimaging Mont JIN DING back from TAI WAN. So here is the wonderful performance.
