Exploring the Spectacular Mayan Ruins of Tulum, Mexico
Tulum Mayan Ruins - Cruise Excursion 4K
The Tulum Mayan Ruins is an extremely popular tourist destination located in Mexico. Tulum is just a short distance from Cancún and Playa del Carmen on the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is one of the best-preserved Maya sites.
The Tulum ruins are situated on a 40 foot cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. There is a staircase down to the beach where visitors can swim at one of the most breathtaking beaches.
There are bus tours that stop at Tulum each day. It is also a very popular cruise excursion. Cruise lines such as Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival have tours that go to Tulum when in port at Cozumel, Mexico.
This video is a complete overview of the Tulum Mayan Ruins tour excursion through Norwegian Cruise Lines.
It starts off with a 40 minute ferry ride from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen. After you arrive, there is a short walk to a coach bus. The bus ride to Tulum is about 50 minutes long. Once in Tulum your tour guide will take you around the ruins and give you a very informative and entertaining overview of the ancient Mayan City. The guided tour takes about 45 minutes. After the guided tour you have about 90 minutes to explore on your own. You can take that time to walk around the ruins or go swimming at the beautiful beach 40 feet below the cliffs. After that you head back to Playa del Carmen and board the ferry back to Cozumel.
There is a short clip of my amazing tour guide, Juan. He is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. If you take the tour, hopefully you get him because he was great!
In the clip, Juan is talking about the one day a year that the sunrise perfectly lines up to shine directly through the temple window. That day just so happens to be June 21, the summer solstice.
In the video you will see the 3 major structors at Tulum.
Pyramid El Castillo (The Castle)
Templo Dios del Viento (God of Winds Temple)
Temple of the Frescos

Travel Tulum, Mexico - The Beaches and Ruins of Tulum
Take a tour of Beaches and Ruins of Tulum in Mexico -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Whether you're a beach-goer or a historian at heart, Tulum is your place.
This beautiful piece of Mexican coastline is home to Mayan ruins roughly 800 years old.
The beach here is almost as amazing: pristine white sand and glowing blue water.
The ruins are part of a city that lasted until 70 years after the Spanish Conquest.
Even after its abandonment, some Mayans continued to use the temple until fairly recently.
At less than a hundred miles away from Cancun, Tulum is an easy-to-reach destination.
The sense of ancient, mystery and the gorgeous beaches will make a lasting memory.
Ruinas Tulum, México / Tulum Ruins, Mexico [IGEOTV]
At about 130 Km of Cancun, in the state of Quintana Roo (Mexico), is the archaeological site of Tulum
Tulum was a walled city of the Mayan culture built on a cliff that stretches about six miles above the coast. It is located within Tulum National Park. Tulum means wall in Mayan. Before the city was in ruins, Maya was called Zama (meaning dawn).
Most of it was built between 1200 and 1450. Tulum splendor lived his time between the beginning of the thirteenth century and early sixteenth century and was an important religious center for maritime trade and the Maya. The largest building is the Castle, its function was defensive and lookout, to prevent possible attacks by sea.
Also served the function of lighthouse.
Tulum is surrounded by walls, except in the east which is the sea. Inside the walls are located the remains of public buildings, both religious and administrative. Outside the walls we find remains of houses in which people lived.
Tulum is not just a pre-Hispanic site incalculable cultural value, but it also has beautiful white sand beaches and clear turquoise waters that are very close to the ideal of what we understand as paradise.

Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico 2019: Beaches, Tulum Ruins, cenotes, tacos & Tulum town
During almost a week spent in Tulum, we stayed in various parts of the town including the zona hotelera (Tulum Beach area), by the Zona Arqueologico de Tulum & Tulum town centre. During our stay explored the town, hired a car to visit various cenotes near Tulum (Cenote Zacil-Ha and another owned by one of the hotels in the zona hotelera, just off Tulum Beach), checked out the Tulum ruins and relaxed on a variety of beaches in Tulum.
Looking for something specific? Time stamps here:

Tulum is one of the hottest destinations in Mexico right now (and Latin America in general), and there are so many things to do in Tulum that you can easily spend a week getting to know Tulum and the surrounding areas. Though we recommend getting a car to get the best out of your time and see all the cenotes near Tulum as well as stunning towns such as Valladolid ( from 0:55 in this video).

The Tulum Cenotes and Ruins you need to see.
Tulum, Mexico has the best cenotes, and some incredible Coba Ruins, which are one of the few Mayan ruins that you can still walk on.
We recommend swimming in the Cenote Chu-Ha and Cenote Tankach-Ha, after visiting the Coba Ruins, right when they open at 8am.

One Day In Tulum, Mexico ❤️ Is it worth it? Mayan Ruins Beach
Today we explore Tulum, a popular spot in Mexico, to see if it's worth the hype. The Tulum Ruins are Mayan Ruins overlooking the beach and...⬇ More Below ✈ Our 220 page guide on how to travel non-stop —
Tulum is one of the most visited places in Mexico, anyone looking into what to do in Tulum would find a load of options, so it's no surprises it's popular. Some of the main things to do are checking out the beaches, nightlife, good vibes, luxury hotels on the beach and the Tulum Ruins. While all of those sound good, the Tulum Ruins were something we've been wanting to check out for a long time.
The Tulum Ruins are Mayan ruins running along the Caribbean sea, 12 metres up on cliffs over looking the beach... spectacular place!
How about the rest of Tulum? It's about as touristy as we expected, but the good news is there is definitely 'zones', so you've still got the chance to see a more local side the town if you really want to. The instagram side of Tulum is interesting and all, but finding local food and seeing that side/zone is more important to us first off!

Day Trip to Tulum Ruins and Tulum Beach:
Tulum, Cancun, Playa del Carmen and The Mayan Riviera is scattered with Mayan Temples and ruins like Coba, Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and more. One of the most visited, and one of the most beautiful is Tulums Ruins right on the Caribbean.
I came to Tulum Ruins for the day from Playa del Carmen on the bus, I explain how to get here (for cheap!) from Tulum, Cancun and Playa, and the entrance fee cost and what to expect. You can do Tulum Tours but you can save money and head there yourself. Also bring your towel because you can access Tulum Beach which is one of the best beaches in the area, right along the best hotels in Tulum.

TULUM: The BLUEST BEACHES and MAYAN RUINS
In today's vlog we hit the town of Tulum on our bikes and ride to the nearby ruins. We got to the Tulum ruins early in the morning but there were so many tourists there already. To get out of the heat, we had some fun in the BLUEST waters we've seen in all of our travels in Mexico. We take you through the main street in town where we found some amazing mojitos and delicious Argentinian empanadas.

Snorkling in Tulum Mexico near Cancun, Mayan ruins & cenotes
A taste of Mexico. Fly into Cancun, drive past Akumal and head south to a small beach town called Tulum. Bohemian eclectic vibe that takes you away from the tourist trap feeling. Great snorkeling, diving, fishing, cave diving in cenotes and dining. The Mayan ruins are close by, it is great place to spend a vacation.
