Sun Yatsen Mausoleum in Nanjing, China
An astonishing sight at the top of an enormous stone stairway (a breathless 392 steps), Sun Yatsen's tomb is a mandatory stop for Chinese visitors. Reverentially referred to as guófù (国父; 'Father of the Nation'), Dr Sun is esteemed by both communists and Kuomintang. He died in Běijīng in 1925, and had wished to be buried in Nánjīng, no doubt with far less pomp than the Ming-style tomb his successors fashioned for him. Within a year of his death, however, construction of this mausoleum began.

Da Ming Palace (1 of 2)
Xian Da Ming Palace National Heritage Park - The Ambassador of China and the Mayor of Xian hosted an historic luncheon event for Xian Da Ming Palace National Heritage Park, dubbed Central Park. Held at the United Nations on 9/9/09, the audience saw the United Nations premiere of Da Ming Palace, directed by Jin Tiemu as well as a Tang Dynasty Fashion Show. Xian is a cultural capital in China. Da Ming Palace National Heritage Park will open in October of 2010.
For centuries Da Ming Palace was the centre of the Tang Dynastys supreme power, and as far as the Chinese were concerned, the centre of the world.
It was three times the size of la Palais de Versailles, four times as large as the Forbidden City, and twelve times as big as the Kremlin.
It was an architectural miracle, dwarfing everything in northwestern China as a testament to the power and glory of that age. As a Chinese poem of the time proclaimed:
It seems as if built by gods; every state should kneel down in front of it.
But this imperial palace of the Tang Empire (618907AD) was no more.
In 904 AD, nearly three hundred years after its construction, Da Ming Palace was completely destroyed in a savage fire, its legend buried beneath the rubble.
Now an epic film brings that legend to life once again. The movie Da Ming Palace is based on the work of Chinese and Japanese archaeologists who for over 50 years have scoured the ruins of the palace for insights into imperial life during one of Chinas greatest eras.
Using 3-D digital reconstruction of the palace and dramatic reenactment, documentary maker Jin Tiemu takes us back to Da Ming Palaces heyday.
Its the story of the first and only empress of China, Wu Zetian, who developed the palace into an architectural marvel. Here she granted audience to her officials and guests from foreign countries, some of whom remained as pampered hostages, to improve Chinas political leverage.
Da Ming Palace reached its apex of luxury when Wu Zetians grandson, Emperor Li Longji seized the throne in 712 AD. Under his supervision, the palace grew in stature as lavish alterations were made.
The palace became the centre of politics and art in Chinas golden age. But the old emperor fell in love with his charming daughter-in-law. This love affair was to trigger a series of disasters for the Tang Empire culminating in bloody warfare and the destruction of the Palace.
The place where courtesans and concubines had knelt at the feet of successive emperors for hundreds of years disappeared from history.
The palace no longer exists, but its legend is resurrected in Jin Tiemus remarkable documentary Da Ming Palace.

Tomb of Emperor Jingdi | Han Jing Mausoleum, China
This tomb, also referred to as the Han Jing Mausoleum, Liu Qi Mausoleum and Yangling Mausoleum, is the burial place of the Han-dynasty emperor Jingdi (188–141 BC) and is quite possibly Xī’ān’s most underrated highlight. If you only have time for two sights outside Xī'ān, make it the Army of Terracotta Warriors and this impressive museum and tomb. Unlike the warriors, though, it's not inundated with visitors so you'll have elbow room to fully appreciate what you’re seeing.

Macau China Info:
Macau, also spelt Macao and officially the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is a special administrative region on the western side of the Pearl River estuary in southern China. With a population of 667,400 and an area of 32.9 km2 (12.7 sq mi), it is the most densely populated region in the world.
Macau was formerly a colony of the Portuguese Empire, after Ming China leased the territory as a trading post in 1557. Between 1557 and 1887, Macau was governed by the Portuguese under Chinese sovereignty and authority. In 1887, Portugal was given perpetual colonial rights for Macau. The colony remained under Portuguese rule until 1999, when it was transferred to China. As a special administrative region, Macau maintains separate governing and economic systems from that of mainland China.
Originally a sparsely populated collection of coastal islands, the territory has become a major resort city and the top destination for gambling tourism. It is the ninth-highest recipient of tourism revenue and its gambling industry is seven times larger than that of Las Vegas. Although the city has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world, it has severe income inequality. Its GDP per capita by purchasing power parity is one of the highest in the world and higher than any country in the world in 2014 according to the World Bank.
Macau has a very high Human Development Index. Macau has the fourth-highest life expectancy in the world. The territory is highly urbanised and most development is built on reclaimed land; two-thirds of total land area is reclaimed from the sea.

Authentic Imperial Edict with Sheriff Portrait Found in China
In Chinese archaeology, an authentic imperial edict of the Ming Dynasty is already rare in the country; it will be even rarer to see an authentic Ming Dynasty imperial edict with a portrait on it. But such an imperial edict has recently seen the sun once again.
This rare imperial edict is found on the inside of the covering of a cart, the most wrong and then right place to find it.
It can't be more wrong for an imperial edict to end up as a cart canopy; and it can't be more right either for it to be there to survive the elements for so long as to be found almost intact.
Provincial archaeologists have studied and proved the surprising imperial edict as one appreciating the duty performance by a Ming Dynasty police officer known as Zhang Dun, who was stationed in southern Beijing as a sheriff.
During the Hongwu period (1368-1398) of Ming Dynasty, Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang had special law-enforcement agencies set up in Nanjing, Beijing and Fengyang. These law-enforcers specialized in catching criminals and thieves, just like present-day police officers. These agencies were among China's earliest municipal authorities, explains Shao Jing, associate fellow with the Shaanxi Archaeology Research Institute.More on:

Pingyao, China 平遥古韵
我们远去的家园 之 平遥古韵。
Quoted from wikipedia:
Pingyao is a Chinese city and county in central Shanxi province. It lies about 715 km from Beijing and 80 km from the provincial capital, Taiyuan. During the Qing Dynasty, Pingyao was a financial center of China. It is now renowned for its well-preserved ancient city wall, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Pingyao still retains its city layout from the Ming and Qing dynasties, conforming to a typical bagua pattern. More than 300 sites in or near the city have ancient ruins. Preserved Ming- and Qing-style residences number close to 4,000. The streets and storefronts still largely retain their historical appearance.
In the Spring and Autumn Period, the county belonged to the kingdom of Jin. It was part of the kingdom of Zhao in the Warring States Period. In the Qin Dynasty, it was known as Pingtao. During the Han Dynasty, it was known as Zhongdu county. In 1986, the People's Republic of China designated Pingyao as one of the Chinese Historic and Cultural Cities. It became a World Heritage Site in 1997, included also the outlying Zhenguo Temple and Shuanglin Temple.
