Here's another cool spot in Minneapolis! Haunted Manor! Swan Turnblad Mansion.
Here's the rest of the footage I got while shooting the Anoka Halloween Capital of the World Episode. Haunted City. There was just too much footage to put it all in that episode. But this definitely stands as it's own episode.
I also included the Insane Asylum Cemetery. I had a very eerie thing happen to me at the Cemetery.
Thanks for watching this episode.

Anoka Rum River Walking Tour Nov 2011
Anoka is a small town on the northern edge of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area in Minnesota. There are lots of parks and trails to enjoy where the Rum and Mississippi rivers meet. This town has a wonderful historical society for the genealogy researchers too.
Anoka History - Anoka, MN from the City web site
Father Lewis Hennepin first visited this area in 1680 and settlers came to stay in 1844. Prior to the 1800's, the area surrounding Anoka was claimed by the Dakota, but later the Ojibwa pushed the Dakota westward across the Mississippi. The territory of Anoka then became a neutral ground between the two tribes. The name Anoka was derived from two Indian words, the Dakota word A-NO-KA-TAN-HAN meaning on both sides of the river, and the Ojibwa word ON-O-KAY, meaning working waters.

Hanging out in Anoka, Minnesota - June 2012
Barb, Tammy and I hung out at Serum's and ate chicken wings and had some drinks. Then we headed to the Rum river to check out the big flooding still going on. We then met up with a HUGE cottonwood tree.
We go out to a park where the Rum and Mississippi rivers meet. It was a great time. If you're ever in Anoka, get to Serum's and check it out - it's awesome. Take in a little fishing too!

I want a different mount for my camera. I need a mount for the top of my helmet. The camera attached to the side of my helmet never seems to catch the right angle. Even if it is pointed up it's viewing the pavement. I might be better off getting a different camera for next year. If I'm sitting up at a stop light you can see some of the buildings.
19 inch smallie 7 30 2014 Rum River Minnesota
This 19 inch smallie takes me for a ride! I hooked it just before going through some rocks. Tough to miss the the rocks paddling with one hand. The fish makes several jumps and then finds a hole in the middle of the river. The current kept taking me downstream but the fish stayed put. I had to let out some line and get to shore. Once on shore, I waded in to get the fish. Finally the smallmouth lets loose and makes a final run with a few more jumps. Finally land it on shore. What a battle!
Teenage Cruising in Downtown Anoka, MN Became Illegal in the 1980's!
Teenagers had been cruising around in their cars all across the USA from the 1950's until the 1990's, when everything changed. Back in the summer of 1989, the first of many new laws began banning people from cruising the city streets in the cars with no particular place to go. As an angry Cruiser, I contacted our local TV News department at KSTP CH. 5, and tipped them off to the new ordinance. Here is the segment. This was the beginning of the end of a great teenage pastime here in Minnesota.
