2. Chapultepec Castle
The only real castle that housed a reigning monarchy in North America.
2:54 - 4:00

Built on top of an Aztec temple, this plaza is the second largest plaza in the world and epicenter of Mexico City's political seat.

This area has been preserved and is a UNESCO World Heritage site that has been described as the Venice of Mexico.
1:42

6:55 - 7:10
8. Reforma Street - Paseo de la Reforma
Reforma Street is one of the most beautiful boulevards in Mexico City, modeled after European boulevards.

This building was built at the beginning of the 20th Century and features eclectic architecture, a unique staircase, dome, marble floors and elegant façade.

The tallest observation deck is from Torre Latinamericano. However, some hotels and rooftop restaurants have excellent views of the city for the photos of the panoramic skyline, i.e the Hilton Reforma.
5:19

This is one of the most prominent cultural centers in Mexico City, recognized by it's prominent yellow dome.
4:48

OAXACA MEXICO - TOUR AND TRAVEL VLOG
Oaxaca is one of Mexico's most unique states, noted for its rich traditional heritage and diverse ethnic population, as well as for its artistic, cultural, and culinary treasures. This video will cover the many sights and UNESCO World heritage sights to photograph in this region.
1. Oaxaca City (7:23 - 9:35)
Designated UNESCO Site noted for its Spanish colonial architecture. It is filled with colorful, wonderfully preserved
buildings.
2. Markets (8:18 - 8:23)
Oaxaca is known as the Land of the Seven Moles, a complex sauce used with meat and rice. But that is not all. Oaxaca is renowned for its unique regional cuisines. The markets are a great way to try the food.
3. Mezcal Factory Tour (2:06 - 2:50)
Mezcal is one of Oaxaca's most famous exports. It is similar to tequila, only with a rich smoky flavor. Mezcal comes in many unique flavors and different aging categories including a variety that comes with a worm for added flavor. Check out the Mezcal Factories where they will show you just how this liquid gold is made.
4. Textiles (1:14 - 2:00)
Oaxaca is world famous for its textiles. They are created using natural dyes and wool. The textile patterns mimic the design elements from the Mitla, an archeological site with distinctive geometric patterns, making them distinctive from any other textiles.
5. Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzman (7:36 - 8:00)
Glorious Baroque church found in Oaxaca City. It includes lavishly ornate interior. Construction started in the 16th Century but did not complete until the 17th Century. The town cathedral is witness to all the cultural activities taking place beneath its facade, including weddings and festivals.
6. Árbol del Tule (0:40 - 1:10)
Botanists estimate this tree to be 2,000 years old. It is considered the largest and oldest tree in the world with a perimeter at 139 feet in circumference. It didn't even fit into one picture frame!
7. Hierve de Agua (3:50 - 4:30)
One of the most surreal landscape I have ever seen is Hierve de Agua, found about two hours outside of the city. The name translates to place where the water boils, and contains non-thermal pools, and natural rock formations rising form the valley below including the main highlight, a petrified waterfall. It was created by minerals that pushed through limestone, depositing onto the mountain. You can hike to the waterfall or wade around in the mineral pools.
8. Zocalo and Basilica of Our Lady of Solitude (8:23 - 8:36)
The Zocalo is the central plaza in Oaxaca City that includes a Spanish Baroque style church, Basilica of our Lady of Solitude. The Zocalo is connected by a pedestrian walkway to the other plaza, Santo Domingo. Along the Zocalo are many street shops and markets.
9. Mitla (2:30 - 3:46)
One of the famous archeology sites which translates to place of the dead. Mitla was an ancient burial and funeral ritual site for the Zapotec people, one of Oaxaca's indigenous groups. It includes one of the few surviving temples, noted for its distinctive small tile mosaic-like geometric patterns in the facade.
10. Monte Albán (6:00 - 7:28)
Monte Albán is so amazing, that it deserves its own blog post (coming soon). It is a UNESCO World Heritage site found about 20 minutes outside of the city. It is the first great city of Mesoamerica and dates back to 500 or 600 BCE. The Zapotec people leveled the mountains by hand (no metal tools or even wheels) to build their ceremonial center known as Monte Albán here, complete with temples or astronomical and religious purposes. Mitla and Monte Albán give you an idea of just how advanced this indigenous civilization was in its heyday.

THE TUNNELS OF GUANAJUATO | Eileen Aldis
The city of Guanajuato, Mexico has an extensive network of tunnels that run beneath the city. In today’s vlog, I’m exploring the underground side of this beautiful city to see what lies beneath. Guanajuato is located in a valley with steep mountains surrounding it and the city used to flood with nowhere for the excess water to flow. The tunnels were originally built to solve this problem and reduce flooding. Since 1961, however, the tunnels have solved a second municipal problem: traffic flow! The Centro’s crowded, narrow streets don’t allow traffic to move quickly so they use the tunnels underneath to get around. Buses service the tunnels and you can ask your taxi driver to let you out underground and take the stairs up to street level - you’ll save time and money! It’s incredible to see how vast the tunnels are. There are multiple levels of tunnels located at least one full story beneath street level. Legend has it that a ghost named La Llorona (‘the weeping woman’) wanders the tunnels. Have you seen the tunnels in Guanajuato? Please leave a comment down below!

BEAUTIFUL CHURCHES | GUANAJUATO CITY | MEXICO | EP. 3 | THE RUNNING FISH
Hola amigos! ????Feliz Navidad????????! Thanks for spending time to watch ???? my video on this special day.
At the beginning of this video, students ???????? from a primary school ????were celebrating their last day of school before Christmas holiday. One of them hit the piñata which contained a lot of candies????. Children were all crazy for them.
There are many beautiful churches ⛪️ in Guanajuato. One of the reasons was because the silver mining business made the city very rich ???????????? hundreds of years ago.
The three churches I showed here were built in the 17th to 18th century. They are all in downtown and not difficult to access.

THE DAY OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE (2018) | GUANAJUATO CITY | MEXICO | EP. 4 | THE RUNNING FISH
December 12th is the Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is to celebrate the belief that a man called Juan Diego encountered the Virgin Mary on Decemeber 9 & 12 in 1531. She ordered Juan to ask the Bishop to build a church ???? at the Hill of Tepeyac. The Bishop did not believe him. The Virgin Mary appeared again and told him to collect flowers ???? from the top of the hill. It should not be any flower ???? on a rocky hill at the end of the year. Juan was suprised to see the hill was covere by beautiful flowers. Then he collected them and showed to the Bishop as a proof. The Basilica ⛪️ of the Virgin of Guadelupe was built on the hill of Tapeyac in Mexico City.
There is only one Guadalupe Church in Guanajuato. I went up to the hill one the hill and watched ???? what they did. There were many photo booth ???? for creating your own 2019 calendar and a lot of food stations. I was people were making intestine taco and real potato ????chips.
When I reached the Church, I saw many people were queuing up outside. I followed them since I was very nosy. They brought eggs ???? and vegetables???? to donate to the Church. If you didn't bring anything, you could buy candles there or donate some ???? money.
The dance ???? performance was outside the Church ⛪️. It should be another way of celebration.

THE MUMMY MUSEUM | GUANAJUATO CITY | MEXICO | EP. 14 | THE RUNNING FISH
I have learned about the Mummy Museum in Guanajuato for a while but I don't know too much details about it.
At the end of the 19th century, burial tax was required. Dead body would be removed if the family couldn't afford it. Due to the climate in Guanajuato, those bodies were naturally mummified and were stored in another building. Cemetery workers began to charge people to see those bodies.
Those bodies were just a little over 100 years old. And they were poor people when they were alive.
Is it moral to display them to public because they could not afford the burial tax?
The location is a little far away from downtown. Taxi ride is around 40-50 peso. Admission is 80 peso.
