Rushmere Country Park, Leighton Buzzard, 22nd December 2013
It was the Sunday of our weekend away, and we had to leave Leighton Buzzard about 11:30am. The weather was sunny and we decided to drive about 4 miles to Rushmere Country Park for a brief walk. It turned out to be very rewarding and a great way to conclude our visit to the area.

Rushmere Country Park in Bedfordshire
With its giant spider, big chair and hidden fairy doors, Rushmere Country Park is one of our favourite free days out. There's a big slide and a small park there too. I'm starting to make more edited short videos of the places we visit. Hope you like them. Details about the park here
Official opening of the extended National Nature Reserve at Rushmere Country Park
A special celebration event has taken place in the Lower Meadow area of Rushmere Country Park to mark the extension of its National Nature Reserve (NNR) area. Newly designated land around King’s Wood and Rushmere will see its NNR status grow from 87 hectares to almost 150 hectares. This recognises the continued partnership working of adjoining land owners Central Bedfordshire Council, the Greensand Trust, Tarmac and the Wildlife Trust. The newly extended space is home to many rare plants and animal species, such as the Barbastelle bat and Purple Emperor butterfly.

LONDONS HIDDEN Trail RUSHMERE????the Matt Jones trails
So yes this is very close to Woburn, riding distance in fact, and that's why I'm drawing your attention to it! So, either catch the train to Leighton Buzzard and chip up the canal, or drive there! The great thing is you've got food, drink and toilets in the visitor centre. So no worries! All you need is some coins for the car park - 3 quid and a day pass from the forest warden, 7 quid, I think, available from the visitor centre. There are a lot more bits to ride beyond the jumps... and you could head up to Brickhill and Woburn. If you look at my Strava you will see all there is to ride. It gets busy after 10am until about 3pm peak season at the weekend. Looking forward to seeing the superstars who can hit these jumps!

The most important thing is this the Matt Jones video location that you can ride its change a little for the better
