Many members of Garden Organic have been surprised to discover that their HQ and showpiece gardens at Ryton have been listed by an estate agent for sale. Lawrence Hill was the founder of the charity and Ryton Gardens personifies his vision for the future.

A Tour of Ryton Gardens - Time Lapse

A time lapse video filmed during our visit to Ryton Gardens, near Coventry in Warwickshire, home of the gardening charity Garden Organic (gardenorganic.org.uk).

The 10 acres of gardens showcase organic gardening at its best; planted with flowering plants and abundant fruit and vegetables. It has been home of the UK's leading organic charity, Garden Organic, for over 25 years.

Ryton Gardens is 5 miles south east of Coventry, off the A45. 1 mile from Wolston village.

This video was filmed on Friday 01 June 2012 using a Drift HD camera mounted to my wheelchair. The original footage was filmed in 720p HD at 30fps.

Blooms for Bees border at Ryton Organic Gardens

The Blooms for Bees border was created at Ryton Organic Gardens, near Coventry in summer 2016.

The border design was developed using existing lists of the most bee friendly flowers and includes a combination of native and non-native plants.

Five Acre Farm - UK Community Supported Agriculture

Is based at Garden Organic in Ryton, between Coventry and Rugby. They support themselves by members subscribing to a weekly box of produce grown on the farm. They employ one full time grower and rely on members volunteering to help with the growing on 3 hour work days. This video shows how they work together as a community. It was impressive how parents were involving their children in learning about growing their own food.

Coventry University Campus

The Coventry University grounds team have made a move away from traditional bedding displays in favour of perennials, meadow-style annual flower mixes, and the Edible Campus where fruits and vegetables are grown for students and staff to harvest. This has provided a much wider range of forage for bumblebees and other insect pollinators.
