So while exploring Hue's streets we stumbled upon a Cong CaPhe and we couldn't wait to get inside and see if their coconut coffee was as good as the branch in Da Nang, however...
As we walked in we were surprised to find just how different the interior decor and vibe is in this Cong Cafe compared to the Danang store and so we decided instead of ordering the same drinks as we did in Da Nang, we would try something different.
Tash sort of went sideways with a coconut and cacao, while I went complete off course with a Decontomelon drink.
We think the Hue store of Cong Caphe is awesome, great service and atmosphere, as well as the quality drinks and so we now plan to visit as many of the Cong Caphes as we can while we travel around Vietnam in 2018 and see if and how different they all are.

We are Leon and Tash, a New Zealand vlogging couple who set off on an amazing Vietnam adventure as fulltime travellers, backpacking Vietnam. But we weren't going to travel to Vietnam for one of those ordinary backpacking Vietnam trips you hear about everybody doing, where they go for a couple off weeks and check out the beaches or maybe riding through Vietnam at such a crazy pace that they never get off the beaten track. No we want more than that.
Our Vietnam adventures start with learning the way of the locals, taking just enough time to figure out how things work, discover what the Must see places in Vietnam are and more importantly where Vietnam's hidden gems are...
To do this, we moved to Danang Vietnam. The plan was to spend 3 months living in Da Nang, meeting and learning from locals about the culture, the amazing food, their way of living and what places they would recommend to travel in Vietnam.
And because Danang is in the middle of the country, we hoped we might meet other tourists or expats who were having their own Vietnam travel adventure or were at the halfway point of motorcycle riding through Vietnam and hear from them, what places they thought we must visit in Vietnam. Also, as new travel vloggers, having a base there meant we could try things like doing Da Nang Vietnam travel vlog or creating a Danang Vietnam travel guide, before also taking on the stresses of fulltime travel.
Then in month 4, that's when the real Vietnam adventure begins. With our new list of must see places, we will head to Saigon and buy a couple of motorbikes. to start our Vietnam road trip!
Motorcycle riding through Vietnam seems like one of the most hectic, crazy and chaotic things anyone could do, but we can't wait!! And we wont be following a simple South to North / Saigon to Hanoi route, we plan on doing more like a figure 8, so that our travel in Vietnam will cover both the inland and coastal areas of this amazing country.
So can we still say we are backpacking Vietnam? Or should we be telling people our travel in Vietnam is a motorcycle trip through Vietnam? We're not sure, but what we do know is, our Vietnam road trip is going to cover over 6000km's from Saigon right up to the famous waterfalls of Ban Gioc near Cao Bang, round the northern point of the Ha Giang loop and everything else we can access in between. Hoi An has a Cong CaPhe, but is it any good? - Travel Vietnam
So on our last day in Hoi An we happened to discover that there is actually a Cong Caphe along the river front..How we missed it on our last trip we have no idea, but we had to step inside for a drink and show you around.
After Da Nang's branch holding a special place due to being our first Cong experience and Hue having such an awesome atmosphere, Hoi An's Cong has a lot to live up too, but to be honest...we felt that it fell a bit short.
it is still a neat cafe in a great location, but it didn't have any real vibe about it and compared to a couple of the other cafes we visited in Hoi An last time we were there, it drink selection seemed a little dull.

Ingredients
1 kg pork belly rinsed and pat dry
***Mix #1 to marinate the meat***
1 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp five-spice powder
½ tsp pepper
1 tbsp hoisin sauce/ketchup, optional
***Mix #2 for the skin***
2 tsp salt
1 tsp white vinegar
For best results, use a halogen oven
Traditionally in Vietnam, we serve this dish with pickled bean sprouts and dipping fish sauce
FAQ: Why are there bubbling/fizzing effect when Helen mixed salt and vinegar together, but it did not happen with mine?
Answer: The salt Helen used accidentally has baking soda (NaHCO3) in it (This was apparently added by the manufacturer to avoid clumping). It reacts with acid acetic in the vinegar and releases CO2 which causes bubbling effect. However this does not affect the roast pork. Even if your mix does not bubble, the recipe still works with most salt & vinegar.

In 2009, we went to Liberia to rummage through the messy remains of a country ravaged by 14 years of civil war.
UPDATE: Charles G. Taylor, former President of Liberia and warlord, has been convicted by an international tribunal of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including rape, murder, and the use of child soldiers. He is the first head of state to be found guilty by an international court since the Nuremberg trials.

Ingredients: (2 servings)
30g black tapioca pearl
300g water
10g black tea leaves
300g soy milk
30 - 60g maple syrup
Instructions:
1. soak black tapioca over night.
2. boil black tea leaves for 1 - 2 minutes.
3. add soy milk and bring to a boil. turn off the heat when it brings to a boil again.
4. boil black tapioca for 1 - 2 minutes.
5. let them cool then pour together into your cup.
