Sungai Petani, or SP, is a town in Kuala Muda District, Kedah, in northern part of Malaysia.
Sungai Petani is Kedah's largest town and is located about 55 km south of Alor Setar, the capital of Kedah, and 33 km northeast of George Town, the capital ty of the neighbouring state of Penang.
Due to its close proximity to Penang, Sungai Petani is also part of Greater Penang, Sungai Petani has experienced heavy industrialisation since the 1990s, when Japanese and other international firms began to set up manufacturing plants around the town.
Sungai Petani has a high and medium-sized business community. A lot of small and medium industry also play a part in the local economy, producing many products, from semiconductors to television tubes and from textile to wood products. One of the examples is Sharp. Sungai Petani is also a booming business center with many large malls, franchise stores and business enclaves
Sungai Petani has many malls and shopping centers such as Amanjaya Mall, Central Square, Village Mall, Lagenda Height Tesco, Sungai Petani North Tesco, Sungai Petani South Tesco, Giant Hypermarket, Econsave, Billion, Sp Plaza and Parkson

2 org ditahan pihak polis ketika cuba melarikan diri setelah didapati mencuri motorsikal di tapak parking (berhampiran funfair) Amanjaya Mall, C Mart Sungai Petani sebentar tadi.
Dipercayai seorang dari mereka juga telah melanggar seorang wanita di tapak funfair dan mangsa dikejarkan ke hospital.
jangan la curi motor. tak baik.

这是我们看过在Malaysia最漂亮的Pasar Malam，除了有屋檐遮盖不怕下雨之外，还有漂亮的水晶灯和大风扇，旁边就是河流，名副其实的Riverfront啊~
★食在好玩推荐：
#脏脏泡芙（小吃类）：脏脏包吃过了，脏脏蛋糕也吃过了，脏脏泡芙没有吃过了吧？还爆浆的呢!!
#笨蛋傻瓜（小吃类）：我们不曾看过这类小吃，而且还爆Cheese的，赶快看视频看看到底是什么!!
#咖喱炸弹（小吃类）：一颗颗圆鼓鼓好像炸弹，里面还是热乎乎的咖喱鸡呢!!
芋圆冰（甜品类）：档口摆放一个很欠揍的洋娃娃很容易认，芋圆冰相当大份，Homemade芋圆分量也很多~
#Soda Fruit Tea（饮料类）：我们都觉得很特别的饮料，小晶甚至还以为是啤酒!! 而且颜值很高，还加了花瓣或者香叶制成的玫瑰花~
#DIY Pasta（主食类）：这里的Pasta可以自己DIY想要的食材和酱料，最重要是价格很亲民又好吃!!
#老妈子卤肉饭（主食类）：那晚肚子很饿先在前端来一份卤肉饭，相貌平平，可是却很好吃耶!! 之后才9PM就卖光光了，还好先来一份了，科科~
#NK Lego（玩具类）：首次在Pasar Malam看到3D Lego，他们有卖超多款式的Lego，连Marvel系列的都有~
❤️温馨提醒：记得一定要走到Pasar Malam尾端，因为从前端到尾端都有很多Special的美食，一些档口美食还是 #独一无二 的咧!!

13.07.18 双溪大年，我来啦！今天和朋友一起到 Sungai Petani，到了 Razina Airplant 空气凤梨花圃开开眼界，买了四株空气凤梨。晚餐到了期待已久的 #罗东 LUODONG 蛋糕店，吃了很好吃的台湾卤肉饭，和这里高人气的私房蛋糕！
罗东的人气非常高，还未开门营业，门外已经排了一堆的吃货！呵呵呵~ 到底我们吃了些什么？看看影片吧~

Located at the Merbok river, Sungai Petani Kedah. I went for Iftar and have to take a boat to get to this restaurant. It was only a short ride though. Interesting concept and the food was nice and super fresh. I think they only serve Thai delicacies and seafood.

The district of Kuala Muda, in which Sungai Petani is, has the 2nd largest mangrove area in the country.
Ecotourism is now in continuous development. From Sungai Emas to Bukit Meriam, Bujang/Merbok, Pulau Tiga and Kota Kuala Muda one can trace the path of Kedah ancient capitals.
Sungai Petani railway station served rail services such as KTM ETS, a higher speed rail service connecting major cities in Malaysia, also local commuter-rail service such KTM Komuter connecting major town in Penang, Kedah, and Perlis.
Long-distance bus service also available nearby the station in UTC Sungai Petani to accommodate public transportation services. Local bus service also operated by City Liner, Mara Liner and Rapid Penang with air-conditioner bus service.
The nearest airport is Penang International Airport. Sungai Petani also served by North-South Expressway, to connect the town with major cities in Malaysia. Sungai Merbok jetty also served season Langkawi ferry services connecting Sungai Petani directly to the Langkawi Island without transit to Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis ports.

Selepas enam tahun menyepi, Malaysian Toon Festival 2019 kembali dianjurkan di Sungai Petani, Kedah bermula 26 Julai lalu hingga 4 Ogos depan.Festival yang menampilkan pelbagai maskot dan animasi tempatan serta luar berjaya menarik minat pengunjung dari dalam dan luar negara.Malaysia Toon Festival diadakan sempena Karnival Rahmah Kedah 2019 yang memberi peluang kepada masyarakat untuk meminati dan menyokong animasi dan kartun tempatan.Festival akan melabuhkan tirainya pada 4 ogos 2019, diadakan di SP Plaza, Sungai Petani dan ia dibuka dari 11 pagi hingga 12 tengah malam.Masuk adalah percuma.
