KidsTown: Volunteer today - Greater Shepparton
SPC KidsTown is a regional adventure playground built by the community of Greater Shepparton through the contribution of volunteer labour and materials from local businesses, as well as major financial support from the Greater Shepparton City Council and KidsTown's naming right sponsor SPC.
A key part of the overall philosophy of the playground is that it is provided free to the community (with a voluntary gold coin donation where possible).
Below is a list of volunteering skills which KidsTown is always looking for and is willing to help volunteers broaden their own interpersonal skills:
•Labouring
•Landscaping
•Gardener
•Farm hand
•Building maintenance
•Café assistant
•Miniature train operating assistant
Contact: KidsTown on 0447 697 506 or email info@kidstown.org.au

SPC Ardmona
SPC Ardmona's Mooroopna plant will close with the announcement that the Goulburn Valley food processor will be consolidated into two sites, Shepparton and Kyabram.
The consolidation will mean 150 jobs will be lost. In a statement to the stock exchange parent company Coca Cola Amatil announced that a review of the SPCA business had found excess manufacturing capacity.
CCA's Group managing Director Terry Davis said the company remains committed to its operations in the Goulburn Valley.
''We remain firmly committed to maintaining our manufacturing base in Australia and by proactively restructuring the SPC Ardmona business we believe we can lower its cost base so it can regain its competitive position in the marketplace,'' he said.
The closure will mean a write-off of $80 million in excess stock and manufacturing assets.
