MUST visit places near Bangalore | Ramadevara Betta, Sholay hills Ramanagar | Most dangerous climb
how we ended in Ramadevara Betta? well, on republic day we thought to take a ride in city but plans changed and we ended up riding to this little known gem of a place called Ramadevara Betta which is just 53km from Bangalore. this is a vulture sanctuary but to see vultures you should stay at night, which we couldn't. They have a mandatory fees of 25Rs per person and 10Rs per bike. The famous Sholay movie was shot here. To reach the peak it's near vertical climb so be careful and I recommend you to wear shoes.
The translation of what the priest said
this temple is thousands of years old which was built on a sugreev agne (kings ultimate order) the legend has it that Shri Ram during his vanawasa stayed here. there is a pond called Rama theertha which never dries. this pond was created when Rama used Arrow to get water from ground to Seetha Devi. the statues inside the temple Sanctum are monolithic, that Rama Seetha and Lakshmana are all carved in a single stone. #Friendlyneighborhoodbiker

Revanasiddeshwara Hills
Sri Revanna Siddeshwara believed to be the re-incarnation of Jagadguru Sri Renukacharya the founder of Veerashaiva Siddantha (Shaiva Dharma ) with a slogan sarve janaha sukhino bhavanthu performed penance over century at SRS hill. Keen observation about SRS Betta will be self explanatory regarding the selection of place for penance. Lord Revana Siddeshwara moved (travelled) accross the country and left many miracles in helping distressed, poor, and backward people and established socialism and secularism long ago.

Unplanned trips are much better than planned one.
Keeping this in mind, we ended up visiting SRS Hills rather than Ramanagara Hills. The Ramanagara Hills is 60kms from Bangalore and SRS Hills is more 19 kms from Ramanagara which turned out to be quite a lovely place to visits for a short bike ride.

Revanasiddeshwara Betta ( SRS Hills ) | RAMNAGARA | Karnataka | KARNATAKA FOCUS
Post monsoon is the best time for bike rides. The woods would be greener and climate would be a bliss to ride. It’s the time to be over the hills and far away from the chaos of the city.
......
Adjacent to the hills, a huge lake – Devrakere looks beautiful from the hills. The SRS hills is popular among the trekkers and rock climbers. With well-defined steps, the trek is honestly easy. Even a first timer can scale the hill and reach the peak without much physical strength. Watching sunrise and sunset at the peak would be a great moment.
