Sabai Dog Koh Kood - Mommy in critical condition

What a day today on our last day on the island. As our daily routine we visited the puppies, weak dogs and what we saw in one place was just shocking. One of our known mommy was in critical condition. She was all shaking, couldn't stand, breathing deep and saliva was dripping from her mouth. It looked like she gonna to die. We didn't know what is happening to her. Two days ago she was also not good but yesterday she was fine. And today she was just awful. We concacted vet and after telling the symthoms and showing the video she said that dog is lack of calcium because she is so skin and feeds so many puppies. We had ideas maybe someone tried to poison her, it is common thing on the island. The vet advised to give intravenous calcium but we don't know how to do it, so we agreed to give her tablets. So we rushed to our friends pharmacy where we took calcium tablets. The tablets were dissolved in water and we gave it using syringe. Also we gave some electrolytes. We had nothing more to do but just to wait. 2 hours later we come to see how is she doing and... she was really great. She was eating and walking again. We hope it will not happen again.

Ir turėjo taip nutikti paskutinę mūsų dieną saloje. Kaip visada kasdien apvažinėjome šuniukus, silnesnius šunis, kam maisto, kam vaistukų. Aplankėme ir vieną kalytę su 6 vaikiukais. Ką pamatėme atėmė žadą. Kalytė gulėjo visa drebanti, lyg traukuliai būtų apėmę, vaikščioti vos vos galėjo, seilės varvėjo iš burnos. Prieš dvi dienas ji nekaip jautėsi bet vakar buvo viskas jai gerai. O šiandien išvis kritinės būklės radom. Spėliojom gal kas nunuodyti nori, čia toks dažnas atvejis. Susisiekėme su veterinare, papasakojome simptomus, nusiuntėme video ir pasak veterinarės kalytei truksta kalcio. Neturėjome kitos išeities, ryt išvykstame o veterinaro čia nėra. Pasitarėme su veterinare ir ji mums patarė sugirdyti kalcio tablečių. Būtų buvę geriau suleisti į veną bet tam reikia turėti žinių kaip tai padaryti. Nuskubėjome pas draugę į vaistinę, nupirkome kalcio. Sutrynėme tabletes, sumaišėme su vandeniu, sugirdėme. Dar sugirdėme elektrolitų. Beliko tik laukti. Kalytė atrodė taip baisiai, kad galvojome nebeišgyvens.
Po poros valandų atvykome pažiūrėti kaip ji jaučiasi. Ilgai ieškojome jos, niekur nebuvo matyt, širdis spurdėjo, galvojome: viskas, nebėra jos. Bet iš tamsos pasirodė kalytės šešėlis, kaip ji atrodė galite pažiūrėti video. Tiesiog stebuklas. Ji netgi valgė. Linkime jai daugiau nebesirgti.

Koh Kood dog spaying/neutering project 2015 October 24
On 24th October 2015 there was a great dog spaying/neutering project in Koh Kood island, Thailand. 142 dogs and cats were fixed. We are thankful to vet volunteers professors, teachers and students. There left many homeless dogs that need to be neutered and spayed.
